Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager Litigation to lead our legal litigation function.

The ideal candidate will have substantial in-house litigation experience and a strong track record in managing complex civil and criminal matters.

You will be responsible for overseeing litigation strategy, handling pre-litigation disputes, representing the company in legal forums, and minimizing the organizations legal risk.


Key Responsibilities:

Litigation Management:

- Handle and manage all in-house litigation matters, including civil, criminal, consumer, regulatory, and commercial disputes.


Pre-Litigation & Settlements:


- Address and resolve pre-litigation disputes.


- Lead settlement negotiations to reduce legal exposure and protect company interests.


Court Representation:

- Represent the organization in courts, tribunals, arbitration forums, and other judicial bodies, as required.


Strategy & Advisory:


- Develop and execute effective litigation strategies in alignment with business goals.


- Advise management on potential legal risks and appropriate actions.


Liaison & Coordination:

- Coordinate with external counsels, law firms, and regulatory bodies.

- Ensure timely filing and follow-up of legal proceedings.


Legal Drafting & Documentation:


- Prepare and review pleadings, notices, affidavits, written statements, appeals, and other legal documents.


Regulatory Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations pertaining to litigation.


Team Leadership:


- Lead and mentor a team of legal professionals, ensuring efficient case handling and knowledge sharing.


Key Requirements:

- Law graduate (LLB) or postgraduate in Law (LLM) from a recognized institution.

- Minimum 12 years of hands-on experience in litigation, with at least 5 years in an in-house legal role.

- Proven expertise in handling both civil and criminal matters.

- Strong understanding of corporate and procedural law.

- Excellent legal drafting, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills.

- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple legal matters simultaneously.

- Sound judgment with high ethical standards and integrity
