Role Overview:
We are seeking a senior legal leader to head global legal operations for a large, asset-intensive organization with operations across the Middle East, US, Europe, and APAC. The role involves leading legal strategy for real estate and infrastructure portfolios, managing complex cross-border transactions, ensuring regulatory compliance, and acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership.
This is a high-impact leadership role requiring strong international exposure, sound commercial judgment, and the ability to proactively manage legal risk across jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee legal strategy for real estate development, leasing, acquisitions, and divestments across multiple global regions
- Manage cross-border contracts, joint ventures, SPVs, and international commercial arrangements
- Oversee property due diligence, land acquisition, title verification, and real estate documentation
- Ensure compliance with local real estate regulations (including RERA) and international regulatory frameworks
- Handle litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution, coordinating with external counsels globally
- Advise CXOs and senior leadership on legal risk, governance, compliance, and mitigation strategies
- Support FDI and FEMA-related matters and international regulatory compliance
- Partner closely with business, finance, and leadership teams to enable growth while minimizing risk
Required Skills & Experience:
- 15 to 20+ years of progressive legal experience in GCC / GBS / Real Estate / Infrastructure / Pharmaceuticals
- Strong hands-on experience in real estate law and global contract management
- Exposure to Middle East, US, Europe, and APAC legal frameworks
- Proven experience handling cross-border transactions and regulatory compliance
- Expertise in litigation management, arbitration, and dispute resolution
- Strong stakeholder management skills with demonstrated CXO / Board-level partnering
- Ability to operate in a matrixed, global environment
Qualifications:
- LLB / LLM from a recognized institution
- Company Secretary (CS) qualification
