
Job Description:
Head of Learning & Development
Job Purpose:
The Head Learning & Development will be responsible for developing and executing the companys L&D strategy, ensuring employees are equipped with the skills required to achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the organizations Learning & Development strategy aligned with business goals.
- Establish a competency-based learning framework across all functions.
- Build a future-ready workforce through continuous capability development.
- Drive a culture of learning, innovation, and employee development.
- Design leadership development programs for first-time managers, middle management, and senior leadership.
- Build succession planning and leadership pipeline initiatives.
- Develop high-potential employee development programs.
- Drive statutory and compliance training across all businesses and manufacturing locations.
Stakeholder Management:
- Partner with Business Heads, Plant Heads, and HR Business Partners to identify capability gaps.
- Manage relationships with external learning partners, consultants, and academic institutions.
- Build collaborations with industry bodies for specialized capability development.
Budget & Governance:
- Manage the annual L&D budget effectively.
- Ensure governance and standardization of learning practices across all locations.
- Publish periodic learning dashboards and analytics for leadership review.

- Training hours per employee
- Training effectiveness and learning ROI
- Leadership pipeline readiness
- Employee engagement with learning initiatives
- Compliance training completion rates
- Internal promotion ratio
- Digital learning adoption
Candidate Background:
Qualifications:
- Essential: MBA HR
Work Experience:
- 15-20 years of post-qualification experience in Learning & Development roles from reputed organizations.
- Exposure to diversified industries and global learning practices desirable.
Competencies/Skills Required:
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Expertise in designing and implementing large-scale learning frameworks.
- Ability to drive organizational change through capability development.
