
General Manager - HR Business Partner (HRBP)
Role Overview:
The GM - HR Business Partner will work closely with business leaders to drive people strategies that enable growth, productivity, and organizational effectiveness. The role blends strategic thinking with hands-on execution, supporting core HR processes while shaping a high-performance culture within a fast-paced NBFC environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Partnering:
- Collaborate with business/unit heads to align HR initiatives with business priorities.
- Act as a trusted partner on workforce planning, team structuring, and productivity improvement.
- Provide actionable insights on people-related challenges and opportunities.
2. Talent & Performance Management:
- Drive performance management processes, including goal setting, reviews, and calibration.
- Partner with leaders to identify high-potential employees and build succession pipelines.
- Support capability-building initiatives, especially for frontline and mid-level managers.
3. Hiring & Workforce Planning:
- Work with talent acquisition teams to ensure timely and quality hiring for critical roles.
- Support manpower planning and budgeting aligned with business growth plans.
- Improve hiring outcomes for sales, credit, collections, and operations roles typical in NBFCs.
4. Employee Engagement & Culture:
- Implement engagement initiatives to enhance employee experience and retention.
- Act as a point of contact for employee concerns and drive resolution.
- Promote a performance-driven, compliant, and customer-centric culture.
5. Change Management & Organizational Effectiveness:
- Support organizational changes such as expansion, restructuring, or process improvements.
- Drive adoption of HR initiatives and policies across business units.
- Identify productivity gaps and recommend interventions.
6. HR Operations & Compliance:
- Ensure smooth execution of core HR processes (onboarding, exits, policy implementation).
- Maintain compliance with labor laws and regulatory requirements relevant to NBFCs.
- Partner with HR COEs (Compensation, L&D, HR Ops) to deliver integrated solutions.
Key Requirements:
Education:
- MBA / PGDM in HR or related field.
Experience:
- 12+ years of HR experience with at least 8 - 10 years in an HRBP or similar role.
- Experience in NBFC, BFSI, fintech, or high-growth sales-driven organizations preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Good understanding of business and financial drivers.
- Hands-on approach with ability to balance strategy and execution.
- Strong problem-solving and data interpretation skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, target-driven environments.
