GM Operations /Factory Head (Packaging Industry)

Responsible for all the facility operations, production lines, and business strategies. Optimize manufacturing efficiency, manage budgets, oversee quality control, and ensure workplace safety. Drives profitability and process improvement across the entire plant.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee daily operations off the manufacturing unit.

- Develop and implement production schedules to meet client requirements.

- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

- Manage and allocate resources effectively to meet production targets.

- Coordinate with other departments to streamline processes and resolve issues.

- Monitor and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement.

- Optimise resource allocation to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

- Monitor production quality and address any issues promptly.

- Collaborate with the engineering team to maintain and improve machinery performance.

- Drive forward the plants profitability and ensure all safety and quality requirements are met.

- Develop and implement business plans that align with company goals and overall strategic vision.

- Drive and implement continuous improvement initiatives tied to the strategic business direction.

- Build partnerships and effectively collaborate with commercial/sales business partners to identify facility growth opportunities and maintain relationships with key accounts.

- Oversee and drive improvements in facility production to meet short-term and long-term divisional objectives to achieve optimum efficiency.

- Oversee and manage all factory operations and activities.

- Lead and mentor a team of supervisors and staff.

- Establish and maintain a culture of continuous improvement.

- Prepare and manage operational budgets and forecasts.

- Train and manage a team to achieve operational goals effectively.

- Prepare reports and analyse data to drive process improvements.

Qualification And Experience:

1. BE in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or Operations Management with 15-18 years of progressive manufacturing leadership and leading plant operations. At least 5 years of experience in a leadership level position

2. Strong analytical skills, lean manufacturing expertise (e.g., Six Sigma), and strategic decision-making capabilities

3. Proven leadership and managerial skills in a high-volume production environment.

4. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and safety standards.

5. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

6. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

7. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.

8. Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.

9. Proficiency in ERP/SAP systems and inventory management tools.
