Gender Coordinator - Rural Agriculture - Kannada The vacancy announcement is being advertised with reference to implementation of a Local Economic Development Program, targeting smallholder farming households at Davangere in Karnataka. The program has different components like Agriculture Development, Entrepreneurship Development, Community Engagement as well as Women Empowerment. Under Women Empowerment, program focuses on Financial as well as Nutritional Literacy and works with 2,500 women. We also work closely with women farmers and train / handhold them to ensure nutritional security of their family. We also work with women farmers on specific subjects like financial literacy and financial management, and entrepreneurship development to support promotion / scaling up of women-led small enterprises. Key Responsibility Areas: - Registration of women farmers in project villages. - Primarily responsible for undertaking the training needs assessment (TNA) of women farmers. - Development of training and extension modules for Financial Literacy, Nutritional Literacy and Entrepreneurship Development. - Mobilizing women farmers in groups and conduct trainings in project villages. - On-farm handholding / stewardship support to women farmers for establishing Kitchen Gardens and Mushroom Units. - Establishing output linkage of surplus vegetables and mushroom produced. - Conducting round the year extension activities with women farmers (includes farm visits, crop shows, crop advisory services and input linkage etc.) - Work with project management teams to facilitate increased participation of women in the project activities and to ensure that the benefits of the project accrue equitably to men and women in the community - Completion and submission of administrative documents/reports as per agreed timelines - Manage a team of village-based female stewards, working closely with women farmers Master's degree in Business, Economics, Social Work, Gender Development,Agriculture or Rural Development. Kannada speaking is a necessity for this role. Experience 5-8 years in project implementation in rural areas.
