Role : Head of Legal - US Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (RCM)

Designation : Vice President / Associate Vice President

Location : Airoli, Navi Mumbai, India

Reporting To : Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Industry : US Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (RCM)

Experience : 20+ Years in Legal role

Mode of Work : Work from office

Office Hours : 12pm-9pm / 1pm-10pm

About the Role :

We are seeking a seasoned and commercially astute legal leader to head the Legal function for our US-focused Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) business. This role will serve as a strategic advisor to the executive leadership team, ensuring the organization operates within applicable legal, regulatory, and compliance frameworks across India and the United States.

Key Responsibilities :

Commercial Contracting & Business Advisory :

- Lead the drafting, review, negotiation, and execution of complex commercial agreements, including Master Services Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), Business Associate Agreements (BAAs), vendor contracts, and strategic partnership agreements.

- Provide practical and business-oriented legal guidance to support organizational growth while effectively managing contractual and regulatory risks.

- Establish and standardize contracting frameworks, legal templates, and approval processes to enhance governance and operational efficiency.

Healthcare Regulatory Compliance :

- Advise leadership on legal and regulatory matters related to US healthcare operations, including HIPAA, HITECH, healthcare data privacy, information security requirements, and offshore service delivery models.

- Collaborate closely with Compliance, Information Security, and Operations teams to strengthen regulatory adherence and governance practices.

- Monitor changes in healthcare regulations and assess their impact on business operations, client engagements, and contractual obligations.

Corporate Governance & Risk Management :

- Identify legal, operational, and reputational risks and develop mitigation strategies.

- Manage litigation, disputes, claims, notices, investigations, and relationships with external legal counsel.

- Ensure compliance with corporate governance standards and support board-level legal matters as required.

Employment Law & Organizational Support :

- Provide legal counsel on employment law, HR policies, employee relations matters, disciplinary actions, investigations, employment agreements, and organizational restructuring initiatives.

- Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws and workplace governance requirements in India.

Technology, Data Privacy & Intellectual Property :

- Support legal matters involving technology platforms, SaaS agreements, AI-enabled solutions, automation initiatives, cybersecurity, and intellectual property protection.

- Ensure appropriate contractual safeguards related to confidentiality, data protection, business continuity, and information security.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management :

- Build and lead a scalable legal function that aligns with the organizations strategic objectives and growth plans.

- Partner closely with senior leadership across Finance, Operations, HR, Technology, Compliance, and Client Services.

- Promote a culture of legal awareness, ethical business practices, and operational accountability across the organization.

Desired Candidate Profile :

- Qualified legal professional (LLB/LLM) from a recognized institution.

- 20+ years of post-qualification legal experience with current designation as AVP or Equivalent too role

- Prior experience within US Healthcare Services, Healthcare BPO, Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), IT/ITES, or multinational service organizations preferred.

- Strong knowledge of US healthcare regulations, healthcare data privacy laws, and HIPAA compliance requirements.

- Proven track record of negotiating and managing complex commercial agreements with US-based clients.

- Strong understanding of cross-border business operations and offshore delivery models.

- Excellent business acumen with the ability to balance legal compliance and commercial objectives.

- Exceptional leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.

- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and growth-oriented environment.
