About the Opportunity:

- We are hiring an experienced and dedicated Gastrointestinal Surgeon for a reputed healthcare institution in Agartala. - The selected candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and surgically managing diseases related to the digestive system, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and associated organs, while ensuring high standards of patient care and clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

- Diagnose and manage surgical conditions affecting the gastrointestinal tract and hepatobiliary system.

- Perform elective and emergency GI surgeries, including open, laparoscopic, and minimally invasive procedures.

- Conduct pre-operative assessments, investigations, and treatment planning.

- Provide post-operative care, monitor patient recovery, and manage complications effectively.

- Handle emergency surgical cases such as intestinal obstruction, perforation, trauma, bleeding, and acute abdomen.

- Collaborate with gastroenterologists, anesthetists, intensivists, radiologists, oncologists, and other specialists for comprehensive treatment planning.

- Maintain detailed patient records, operative notes, discharge summaries, and clinical documentation.

- Follow hospital protocols, patient safety standards, infection control practices, and ethical guidelines.

- Participate in departmental meetings, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.

- Guide junior doctors, residents, and OT staff when required.

Required Qualifications:

- MBBS from a recognized medical institution.

- MS / DNB in General Surgery.

- MCh / DrNB in Surgical Gastroenterology from a recognized institution.

- Valid medical registration with relevant medical council.

- Relevant post-qualification experience in GI Surgery preferred.

Desired Skills:

- Strong expertise in gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary surgical procedures.

- Experience in laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgeries preferred.

- Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making abilities.
