Role Overview:
As a member of the Project Management Office (PMO) team based in Hyderabad, you will serve as the central nervous system for our project delivery operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, finance, and site operations, to ensure that solar projects are executed within defined timelines and financial constraints. Your day-to-day involves synthesizing complex project data into actionable insights, facilitating seamless communication between internal stakeholders, and ensuring that our project management frameworks are consistently applied to drive business efficiency and project success.
Key Responsibilities:
1. PMO Leadership & Governance:
- 1. Establish and work on process improvements, SOPs/Checklists, templates, policies, developing team, optimising resources, and other change initiatives.
- 2. Develop a governance framework to monitor project performance across the portfolio.
- 3. Lead project planning and review forums with senior management and provide strategic guidance and solutions to cross-functional project team for achieving time, cost, and scope targets.
2. Project Planning & Scheduling:
- 1. Lead preparation, incremental updates of detailed project schedules (L1L5) for Wind and Solar projects from concept to commissioning.
- 2. Develop and validate cost and time estimates during budgeting, and execution stages.
3. Stakeholder interaction and Management:
- 1. Integrate engineering, procurement, construction, regulatory and commissioning timelines into master schedules to aim commissioning of projects on SCOD.
- 2. Define and develop comprehensive project scope in coordination with technical and commercial teams.
- 3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of estimates with technical and commercial requirements.
- 4. Oversee contract management activities, including review of project contracts, tracking of key obligations, deliverables and ensuring compliance with contractual terms during project execution.
4. Performance Tracking & Reporting:
- 1. Monitor project progress, identify variances, and recommend periodic corrective actions with productivity dashboards.
- 2. Monitor critical paths, dependencies, and risks, providing early warnings and mitigation for potential delays.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex project portfolios, with 2 to 5 years of experience in a PMO or project coordination function.
- Proficiency in developing and managing MIS dashboards and reporting tools to translate raw data into executive-level insights.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to oversee project budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with senior management.
- Advanced proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Excel for data modeling and reporting.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, capable of navigating the fast-paced environment of the renewable energy sector in an on-site capacity in Hyderabad.
- A degree in Engineering or Management from a reputed institute is preferred, complemented by a structured approach to project governance.
