Description:
1. Leadership & People Management (Handling Area Managers)
- Lead & Coach: Directly manage, mentor, and coach a team of Area Managers responsible for individual delivery hubs and sub-regions.
- Performance Management: Set clear goals, conduct performance reviews, and drive accountability for safety, service, and cost targets across the Area Manager team.
- Succession Planning: Identify and develop future operational leaders, focusing on building a diverse and robust talent pipeline.
- Culture Building: Foster a strong, positive, and inclusive work culture that prioritizes safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement for all Last Mile Teams.
2. Operational Strategy & Execution
- Regional P&L: Own the Profit & Loss (P&L) for the region's Last Mile activities, managing budgets, controlling variable costs, and optimizing CapEx usage.
- Service Delivery: Ensure the consistent achievement of critical KPIs, including On-Time Delivery (OTD), first-attempt success rate, and customer feedback scores.
- Network Optimization: Oversee the operational planning, capacity management, and geographical expansion of delivery stations and partner networks within the region.
- Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks, implement standardized processes, and champion the rollout of new technologies (e.g., routing software, fleet telematics) to enhance efficiency.
3. Diversity & Inclusion Mandate
- Talent Acquisition: Collaborate with HR to ensure diverse candidate pools and unbiased hiring practices for all Area Manager and leadership roles in the region.
- Retention & Development: Develop and execute specific strategies and programs to support the retention and career advancement of employees from underrepresented groups within Last Mile Operations.
- Reporting: Track and report on regional diversity metrics and provide strategic input on company-wide inclusion initiatives.
4. Stakeholder Management
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Middle Mile Logistics, Supply Chain Planning, Technology, and Customer Service teams to resolve regional escalations and ensure end-to-end flow of goods.
- External Relations: Manage relationships with key external stakeholders, including local government bodies, regulators, and strategic delivery partners.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Logistics, or a related field. An MBA or Master's degree is highly preferred.
Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in large-scale Logistics, Last Mile Operations, or Supply Chain Management, with a proven track record of managing high-volume operations across a wide geographical area.
Leadership: 8+ years of experience in managing managers (i.e., managing Area Managers or similar supervisory roles).
Last Mile Expertise: Deep knowledge of last-mile delivery models, route planning, fleet management, and operational technology.
Diversity Focus: Demonstrated commitment to and experience in driving diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in the workplace.
