Role: Finance Controller - Hospitality
Reporting To: Executive Director
Job Location: Kinshasa, DR Congo
About the Role:
An experienced Finance Controller Hospitality to support data-driven decision-making across hotel operations. The role focuses on analyzing business performance, financial results, and operational efficiency to improve profitability in branded hospitality environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Track key KPIs including occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, GOP, and overall profitability
- Prepare and analyze P&L statements, Balance Sheets, and MIS reports
- Conduct internal operational and financial audits across hotel departments
- Ensure compliance with SOPs, internal controls, and statutory requirements
- Identify revenue leakages, financial discrepancies, and operational inefficiencies
- Provide periodic performance reports and insights to management for decision making
- Develop annual budgets, forecasts, and perform variance analysis (actual vs budget)
- Identify cost leakages, inefficiencies, and recommend cost optimization measures
- Conduct gap analysis to identify deviations between planned and actual performance
- Highlight operational bottlenecks and suggest process improvements
- Build dashboards and reports for real-time business tracking and performance monitoring
- Support revenue management and pricing decisions through data analysis
- Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Sales, and Revenue teams
- Support General Managers with actionable business insights
- Assist in strategic planning and forecasting for hotel operations
- Ensure accuracy, transparency, and consistency in financial and operational reporting
- Strong knowledge of business analysis, auditing, and financial controls in hospitality
- Expertise in hotel KPIs, internal audit processes, and operational metrics
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, MIS reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
- Strong understanding of P&L, Balance Sheet, cost control, and audit procedures
- Ability to analyze large datasets and convert them into actionable insights
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience in branded hotel chains or multi-property hospitality operations preferred
- Exposure to internal audit, compliance, and hospitality finance systems is an advantage
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools and revenue management systems is preferred
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability
- Proactive, structured, and results-oriented mindset
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong hospitality business analysis, financial planning, budgeting, and operational control
- Experience in internal auditing, SOP compliance, and risk identification
- Knowledge of P&L, Balance Sheet, MIS reporting, variance analysis, and cost control
- Ability to identify revenue leakages, cost inefficiencies, and improve profitability
- Understanding of hotel KPIs (Occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, GOP, etc.)
- Advanced Excel, MIS, and dashboard reporting skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making ability
- Good communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Managerial skills including team handling, coordination, delegation, and performance monitoring
- Experience in branded hotel/multi-property operations preferred
- Strong leadership, ownership, and result-oriented mindset
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.
- Professional qualification such as CA, CMA, ACCA, CPA, or MBA (Finance) preferred.
- 10 - 12 years of experience in Finance & Accounts, with at least 8 years in the hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, auditing, and hotel performance metrics (Occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, GOP).
- Proficiency in Excel, MIS reporting, and hospitality finance systems.
Contract Period: 2 years
