About the role:

Our client is a fast growing FMCG firm. The founders currently manage the finance function. As the business scales, the company is now looking to bring in a Finance Controller who can take complete ownership of the finance function and manage it end-to-end.

The Finance Controller will be responsible for finance operations, financial planning & analysis, budgeting, and fund management, while building strong processes and controls.

Key Responsibilities:

1. End-to-End Ownership of Finance:

- Take over complete responsibility for the finance function from the founders

- Own day-to-day finance operations, reporting, and governance

- Act as the primary finance partner to founders and leadership

2. Financial Planning, Budgeting & FP&A:

- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and rolling financial plans

- Build and institutionalize FP&A and MIS frameworks

- Track margins, costs, working capital, and profitability

- Provide forward-looking insights to support business decisions

3. Fund Management & Treasury:

- Manage cash flows, liquidity planning, and working capital

- Drive discipline in fund utilization and capital allocation

- Support leadership with financial preparedness for future fundraising

4. Finance Operations & Controllership:

- Oversee accounting, compliance, audits, and taxation

- Strengthen financial controls, SOPs, and processes

5. Ensure accurate accounting for:

- In-house manufacturing

- Contract / third-party manufacturers

6. Systems & Process Building:

- Improve and formalize finance systems and reporting structures

- Work with existing ERP and support migration to a more scalable platform

- Ensure finance processes are audit-ready and scalable

7. Team Leadership:

- Manage and develop a finance team of 8 members

- Set structure, accountability, and performance standards

- Provide supervisory oversight to plant finance teams

Candidate Profile:

- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with 10 to 15+ years of relevant finance experience

Strong hands-on expertise in:

- Financial Planning & Analysis

- Budgeting & forecasting

- Fund / cash flow management

- Experience managing end-to-end finance operations

Preferred Background:

- Experience in consumer / FMCG businesses

- Exposure and understanding of to General Trade (GT) and Modern Trade (MT) models

- Experience in manufacturing environments (plant and/or contract manufacturing)

- Experience in founder-led or fast-growing organizations is a strong plus
