Role Summary

As a Financial Compliance & Regulatory Analyst, you will ensure that our cloud ERP and Fintech solutions adhere to the strict financial regulations of Japan while operating from our Bangalore hub. You will monitor changes in Japanese tax laws, labor laws, and banking regulations to ensure our SaaS platform remains compliant and secure for our thousands of Japanese users. You will act as a key guardian of the company's reputation and financial integrity.

Key Responsibilities

- Regulatory Monitoring: Track and analyze updates in Japanese financial regulations (e.g., Consumption Tax changes, Invoice System requirements) and assess their impact on our software.

- Compliance Auditing: Conduct regular internal audits of financial workflows within the platform to ensure data accuracy and regulatory adherence.

- Policy Development: Help draft and update internal compliance policies and "Best Practices" for both the Tokyo and Bangalore teams.

- Cross-Border Reporting: Prepare detailed compliance reports for senior leadership in Japan, highlighting potential risks or areas for operational improvement.

- Risk Assessment: Evaluate new product features or modules from a legal and financial risk perspective before they are launched in the Japanese market.

- Liaison Support: Coordinate with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies in Japan to resolve complex compliance queries.

Required Qualifications

- Experience: 4-6 years in Financial Compliance, Internal Audit, or Regulatory Affairs, preferably within the Fintech or Banking sector.

- Language Proficiency: Professional Japanese (N2 or above) is mandatory to read and interpret legal documents and regulations. Professional English is required for internal communication.

- Domain Expertise: Solid understanding of Japanese accounting standards or business law is a significant advantage.

- Analytical Mindset: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to simplify complex legal requirements into actionable business steps.
