Finance Leader - Mobility & Quick Commerce (10-20 yrs)

About Myrik

About 70% of Indians live outside the metros, and most consumer technology still serves them poorly. Myrik is building for them.

One driver-partner network does two jobs: it offers auto-rickshaw rides from 10, and it delivers groceries and daily essentials on demand. Every ride and every order gives local driver-partners a steady source of income. That exclusive driver network is the distribution layer through which mobility, commerce, and essential services reach Tier 3 and Tier 4 markets across India.

So far, Myrik has served 8 lakh+ passengers, completed 2 crore+ grocery deliveries, and covered 4.5 crore km. The company was founded by IIT Bombay alumni and industry veterans.

Why this role exists

Myrik runs a two-sided marketplace across two business lines, rides and deliveries, on one shared driver network. Small changes in driver utilization, order density, and city-level cost move the business a lot. Finance has to be the function that shows, city by city and line by line, where we make money, where we don't, and why.

This is a build-and-run role. In the initial phase, you will do the hands-on work (close the books, fix cash and settlement processes, stay clean on compliance) while building the planning, reporting, and investor-ready foundation that lets the company scale. You will be the finance partner to leadership on pricing, city launches, and category decisions.

What you will own

1. Planning, unit economics, and business partnering:

- Lead the annual operating plan, budgets, rolling forecasts, and scenario planning.

- Model new-city launches, category expansion, and build-vs-partner decisions before we commit to them.

- Own unit economics for all business lines: contribution margin by city and category, driver-partner utilization, take rate, cross-subsidy between rides and deliveries, CAC, and payback.

- Sit with Operations, Growth, and Category teams so margin shapes decisions proactively.

- Run monthly variance analysis, and explain what changed and what we should do about it.

2. Cash, treasury, and settlements:

- Own cash-flow forecasting, runway, burn, and working capital.

- Own driver-partner payouts, cash collection, and settlement reconciliation across payment modes and cities.

- Manage banking, payment-gateway, and payout-partner relationships, and set treasury policy.

3. Accounting and reporting:

- Own month-end close, AP/AR, payroll, and MIS, on a fixed close calendar.

- Choose and implement the finance stack (ERP, expense, and payout tooling) and integrate it with product and ops data.

- Make sure every rupee that moves through the platform (rider fares, order payments, driver-partner payouts, incentives, refunds) is accounted for and reconciled.

4. Tax, compliance, and audit:

- Own the statutory compliance calendar end to end: GST (including e-commerce operator obligations), TDS/TCS, direct tax, ROC/company law, and PF/ESI/professional tax where applicable, across every state we operate in.

- Lead statutory, internal, and tax audits and be the single point of contact for auditors.

- Ensure no penalties, notices, or late filings, and audit-ready books at all times.

5. Finance Command Center, Controls & Team:

- Build the Finance Command Center, a single source of truth for business performance, with live dashboards covering unit economics, city P&Ls, cash and growth levers.

- Set up strong internal controls, compliance processes and risk frameworks that cover financial, operational, regulatory and counterparty risk.

- Present a monthly Finance Insights Deck to leadership with clear recommendations on where to put resources and when to change strategy.

- Lead and mentor the finance team, and raise its standards so reporting is accurate and compliant.

6. Fundraising, Board & Investor Relations:

- Work with leadership to own the financial side of fundraising: models, metrics, the data room, due diligence and term-sheet analysis.

- Run board and investor reporting, including the monthly board pack.

What we are looking for

Must-haves:

- CA, CFA, MBA (Finance), or equivalent.

- 10 - 15 years of experience, including 4 - 5 years leading a finance function.

- Has built finance systems, controls, and reporting from the ground up, not only operated inside existing ones.

- Track record of improving margins and operational efficiency in a fast-moving, high-volume business, with measurable results.

- First-principles thinker who can break down an ambiguous business problem, such as a city launch or a pricing change, and reach a clear recommendation. Comfortable learning and unlearning as the business evolves.

Nice-to-haves:

- Experience in marketplaces, consumer internet, logistics, mobility, or quick commerce.

- Exposure to fundraising, investor diligence, or board reporting at a venture-backed company.

- Experience with gig and platform-worker compliance, or cash-heavy and payout-heavy operations.

- Experience designing controls and fraud prevention in a high-volume, low-ticket, or cash-heavy business.
