About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Finance Head to lead the finance and accounting function for its upcoming 80-bedded Women & Child Care Hospital in Bhopal. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of relevant experience in hospital/healthcare finance, with strong expertise in financial planning, budgeting, accounting, statutory compliance, hospital revenue management, cost control, MIS, audits, and financial governance. The candidate will play a key role in establishing the finance function and ensuring financial readiness for the hospital's launch and subsequent operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Strategy:
- Lead the overall finance and accounting function of the hospital.
- Develop annual budgets, financial plans, cash-flow projections and business forecasts.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and identify areas for cost optimization.
- Provide strategic financial insights to the Hospital Management and leadership team.
- Support business planning, expansion initiatives and capital expenditure decisions.
Hospital Finance & Revenue Management:
- Manage hospital revenue cycles, billing, collections and receivables.
- Monitor revenue from OPD, IPD, diagnostics, pharmacy, surgeries, insurance and corporate clients.
- Establish effective processes for revenue assurance and leakage control.
- Monitor insurance/TPA claims, settlements, deductions and outstanding receivables.
- Ensure accurate accounting of hospital operations and revenue streams.
Accounting & MIS:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting, general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Ensure timely closure of monthly, quarterly and annual financials.
- Prepare management MIS, dashboards and financial reports.
- Analyze profitability, margins, operating costs and department-wise financial performance.
- Establish appropriate financial controls and approval mechanisms.
Compliance & Audit:
- Ensure compliance with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Manage GST, TDS, income tax and other applicable statutory compliances.
- Coordinate internal, statutory and external audits.
- Ensure proper documentation, financial controls and audit readiness.
- Liaise with auditors, consultants, banks, insurers/TPAs and other external stakeholders.
Budgeting & Cost Control:
- Develop and monitor departmental budgets.
- Control hospital operating expenses and identify opportunities for cost efficiency.
- Monitor procurement expenses, vendor payments and inventory-related financial controls.
- Support CAPEX planning for medical equipment, infrastructure and hospital setup.
- Implement strong financial governance across departments.
Hospital Launch & Setup:
- Lead finance-related activities for the new hospital launch.
- Establish accounting processes, SOPs, controls and reporting structures before go-live.
- Set up billing, collection, payment and financial approval workflows.
- Work closely with HR, Procurement, Operations, IT and Hospital Administration teams.
- Ensure financial systems and processes are operationally ready before hospital opening.

Candidate Profile:
- Qualification: CA / CMA / MBA Finance / M.Com or equivalent qualification.
- Experience: 10+ years of overall finance experience, with significant experience in hospitals/healthcare organizations.
- Candidates who have worked as Finance Head / Head of Finance / Financial Controller / Senior Finance Manager in hospitals will be preferred.
- Experience in hospital finance setup, stabilization or new hospital launch will be an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of hospital billing, TPA/insurance processes and healthcare revenue cycles is preferred.
- Candidates should have strong leadership skills and the ability to independently manage the complete finance function.
Preferred Candidate Background:
- Mandatory: Hospital / Healthcare Finance experience.
- Candidates from hospitals, healthcare groups, multi-specialty hospitals, women & child hospitals or healthcare chains with experience managing finance operations are preferred.
