Finance Head


Location: Bangalore (with occasional travel to Mumbai)

We are a reputed group of educational institutions operating under a registered society with campuses in Bangalore and a university in Mumbai.


The group is focused on academic delivery, infrastructure development, and institutional excellence.


We are looking for a strategic and experienced finance leader to drive financial governance, compliance, operational controls, and long-term growth.

Role Overview:

- The Head of Finance will be responsible for leading all financial functions across the group including strategic planning, accounting, audits, treasury, compliance, reporting, budgeting, and team development.


- This is a senior leadership role requiring cross-functional collaboration and institutional oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide strategic financial guidance to the leadership team and support evaluation of long-term institutional plans.

- Develop and monitor financial metrics in line with global education and infrastructure benchmarks.

- Establish and maintain robust financial and accounting systems in compliance with statutory and internal control norms.

- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual closure of accounts and ensure audit readiness with no qualifications.

- Represent the management in audits and regulatory assessments, and ensure timely resolution of all audit-related queries.

- Ensure all financial transactions adhere to statutory regulations and internal governance standards.

- Forecast cash flow, plan fund utilization, and ensure timely availability of operational and capital funds.

- Liaise with banks, financial institutions, and rating agencies for funding, treasury management, and strategic relationships.

- Oversee preparation of all MIS, financial reports, and performance dashboards to aid leadership decision-making.

- Drive the institutional budgeting process, monitor adherence to plans, and initiate cost-control measures.

- Regularly review financial performance, identify gaps, and suggest corrective strategies to improve financial health.

- Coordinate with external auditors, consultants, and legal advisors on all matters related to taxation, contracts, and financial compliance.

- Lead, mentor, and supervise the finance and accounts team across locations to ensure high-quality performance and professional development.

- Establish strong internal control processes, monitor risk exposure, and support transparency in all financial operations.

- Contribute to capital planning, infrastructure budgeting, and treasury strategy for the institution's future growth.

- Ensure smooth functioning of all compliance activities including statutory reporting, tax planning, audit management, and legal liaison.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

- The ideal candidate will have 10-15 years of progressive experience in financial leadership roles, preferably within the education, infrastructure, or not-for-profit sector.


- Strong knowledge of statutory compliance, treasury, budgeting, and financial strategy is essential.


- Experience with societies and trust structures, including 12A and 80G exemptions, will be a significant advantage.


- The candidate should be a team leader, critical thinker, and effective communicator with a hands-on and solutions-driven approach.
