Factory Head / Site Head (Chemical Manufacturing)

You will be responsible for providing strategic leadership for end-to-end plant operations, optimizing production, safety (EHS), quality, and P&L. Key responsibilities include ensuring regulatory compliance, driving operational excellence, managing hazardous chemical processes, and leading site teams to meet capacity expansion goals.

Core Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership:

- Full accountability for production planning, maintenance, quality assurance, EHS, and site security.

Oversee Plant Operations:

- Ensure smooth and efficient functioning across all departments, optimizing processes for maximum production output.

Technical Soundness:

- Ensure the plant's technical efficiency in handling machinery, production processes, and implementing robust safety measures.

Production Leadership:

- Lead efforts to achieve and exceed production targets while maintaining optimal yield and minimizing wastage. Implement strategies for continuous improvement in production processes.

Budget & P&L Management:

- Oversee the site budget, capital expenditures (CAPEX), and operational expenses to achieve profitability targets.

Infrastructure Management:

- Oversee plant upkeep, including engineering, utility maintenance, and commissioning of new manufacturing capacities.

Site Monitoring:

- Monitor the site and operations closely, ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining high levels of operational efficiency and environmental sustainability.

Maintenance and Operations:

- Oversee the maintenance and operation of plant machinery, ensuring preventive measures are in place to avoid downtime and ensure longevity of equipment.

Performance Optimization:

- Drive yield improvement initiatives, focusing on cost control, resource efficiency, and product quality, to improve overall plant performance.

Regulatory Compliance:

- Handle licensing and approvals, including building approvals, pollution control, ETP (Effluent Treatment Plant), and other regulatory requirements to maintain compliance.

Team Management:

- Lead, manage, and guide the team to foster a collaborative and productive environment, ensuring that all team members meet their objectives.

Plant Administration:

- Ensure smooth administration of the plant, ensuring that all departments operate in accordance with set guidelines and within specified timelines.

Safety and Health:

Focus on plant safety, health, and compliance with statutory regulations. Promote a culture of safety through - continuous monitoring and improvements in health and safety practices.

Coordination and Communication:

- Ensure proper coordination between departments to maintain streamlined operations and timely delivery of production targets.

Qualification And Experience:

1. B.E./B.Tech in Chemical Engineering or M.Sc. in Chemistry with 15+ years in the chemical manufacturing industry, with senior leadership experience & Expertise in chemical processes, process safety management (PSM), and regulatory compliance.

2. Strong leadership, decision-making, crisis management, and technical troubleshooting capabilities.

3. Strong technical knowledge of chemical engineering and plant operations, with hands-on experience in production management and plant safety.

4. Proven team management and leadership abilities, with a focus on guiding teams to meet production and safety targets efficiently.

5. Extensive experience in handling regulatory approvals, environmental safety, pollution control, and effluent treatment plant (ETP) management.

6. Ability to enforce operational guidelines and ensure the timely delivery of departmental responsibilities while resolving operational challenges effectively.

7. Proven track record of improving production yields, meeting or exceeding output targets, and optimizing operational processes.

8. Experience in managing plant safety, environmental regulations, and health measures, ensuring the plant operates within legal frameworks.

9. Skilled in managing complex licensing and regulatory processes, including site approvals and pollution control measures.
