Role Overview Legal Associate.
Exotel is at the intersection of CPaaS, CCaaS, and Conversational AI, transforming how enterprises communicate at scale.
As a Legal Associate, you will support this transformation by owning and scaling commercial contracting across products, customers, and geographies.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role where youll work on AI-led, enterprise-grade agreements, build legal playbooks, and help evolve Exotels legal systems toward public-company readiness.

- Direct ownership of contracts end-to-end, not a narrow review role.

Key Responsibilities:
- Independently review, negotiate, and close commercial agreements (MSAs, SaaS, DPAs, SLAs, SOWs, partner contracts).
- Identify and mitigate risks across data privacy, telecom, AI commitments, IP, security, liability, and SLAs.
- Partner with Sales and business teams to enable faster, business-friendly deal closures.
- Build strong product understanding across telephony, APIs, AI workflows, and SLAs.
- Contribute to contract playbooks, CLM workflows, and legal automation initiatives.
- Support governance, compliance, and audit readiness.
What Were Looking For:
Must-have:
- 5 - 7 years of commercial contracting experience in tech / SaaS/platform companies.
- Strong enterprise contract negotiation skills.
- Ability to understand complex products and technical concepts.
- Comfort operating in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
Skills:
- Clear drafting and redlining.
- Strong communication and structured thinking.
- Business-oriented, pragmatic mindset.
- Ability to prioritize and move fast.
Nice to have:
- Experience in CPaaS, telecom, AI, or data privacy.
- Exposure to CLM tools or contracting automation.
Education:
- LLB (mandatory).
- Certifications in technology, privacy, telecom, or AI law are a plus.
