Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced legal professional to join the Commercial Legal team as a Executive Director. The role involves managing complex commercial negotiations, providing legal advisory across multiple jurisdictions, and supporting business stakeholders on strategic commercial initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in commercial contract negotiations, multi-jurisdictional transactions, and legal risk management within a global corporate environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Contract Negotiation & Legal Advisory
- Lead complex commercial negotiations across regions including technology, infrastructure, market data, service, and real estate agreements.
- Draft, review, and negotiate multi-jurisdictional commercial contracts and partnerships.
- Conduct legal risk assessments and escalate significant legal issues to senior stakeholders when required.
- Provide legal guidance on regulatory compliance matters across multiple jurisdictions.
- Support business units on day-to-day commercial legal matters and ensure legal risk is effectively managed.
- Collaborate with regional legal teams and business partners across global markets.
- Support legal aspects of technology transformation and digital innovation initiatives.
- Manage relationships with external legal counsel and counterparties.
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives with risk, compliance, and business teams.
- Handle complex legal matters and support senior leadership in crisis escalation scenarios.
Team Leadership
- Mentor and guide junior legal professionals on complex commercial matters.
- Support talent development and knowledge-sharing initiatives within the legal team.
- Foster collaboration and best practice sharing across teams.
- Assist with internal training and development programs.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 15+ years of legal experience with strong exposure to complex commercial negotiations.
- Proven experience managing multi-jurisdictional transactions and contracts.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Ability to assess legal and business risks and provide commercially aligned legal solutions.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and conflict management skills.
- Self-driven with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams.
