Lead the Transformation of a 15-Year-Old Manufacturing Business into a Systems-Driven Institution

Reporting to: Director

Location: Boisar, Palghar (100kms from Mumbai to Mumbai Ahmedabad Highway)

Experience: 15+ years in manufacturing operations, with 5+ years at COO / Plant Head / VP-Operations level

About Us:

We are a 15-year-old manufacturing company specializing in Transmission Line Towers, Steel Structures for Bridges, and Infrastructure projects, with in-house hot dip galvanizing and painting facilities. We serve leading power utilities, EPC contractors, and infrastructure developers across India.

We also undertake EPC projects in the same domain of Transmission Line Towers, Railway Electrification, Road, Bridge and Railway Infrastructure Projects.

Workforce: 200+ on-roll employees and 500+ contract workforce.

The Role:

We are looking for a seasoned operations leader to take ownership of our day-to-day operations and, more importantly, to transform how the organization works.

For 15 years, we have grown on technical depth, customer trust, and the Promoter's hands-on involvement. We are now at an inflection point. Our next chapter requires a COO who can convert a promoter-led, process-light organization into a measured, systems-driven institution - without losing its entrepreneurial soul.

This is a build role, not a caretaker role.

Your Mandate:

- Build a systems-driven operating culture - SOPs, measurable KPIs, review rhythms, and ERP-enabled operations across every function.

- Govern and elevate the existing team - you will inherit a functional team; your job is to guide on elevating the team and extracting work from them.

- Develop depth below middle management - structurally push responsibility downward so junior talent grows and middle managers are freed for genuine supervision and planning.

- Align every department (Raw Yard, Fabrication, Galvanizing, Painting, Stores, Quality, Dispatch, PPC, Maintenance, Plant Accounts) to a cascaded goal structure - annual - quarterly - monthly - weekly - daily

- Own company targets - and build a culture of honest, structured root-cause analysis when targets are missed. No diplomatic obfuscation; depth over excuses

- Represent operations across the business - partner Sales on delivery commitments, Finance on working capital and cost, Purchase on material planning, HR on workforce, so that operations is never a silo

- Partner the Management - run operations autonomously within agreed parameters; escalate exceptions; free the Management to focus on strategy, growth, and customers

Who We're Looking For:

- 15+ years in manufacturing operations, with at least the last 5-8 years at COO, Plant Head, Works Director, or VP-Operations level.

- Mandatory Direct experience in the manufacturing sector, which is system and process oriented. From a compatibility point of view, candidates with direct experience in 'make to order' heavy manufacturing sector will be preferred for example structural steel fabrication, transmission towers, bridge fabrication, heavy engineering, or adjacent sectors (boilers, pressure vessels, shipbuilding modules, railway rolling stock, process equipment)

- Proven track record of transforming a process-light operation into a systems-driven one - with specific before/after metrics you can describe

- Demonstrated experience in developing junior talent into the next leadership layer - not just managing existing reports

- Cross-functional operating experience - you have worked as an equal partner to Sales, Finance, and Purchase, not only within the plant gate

- Fluency with ERP, operational dashboards, and root-cause analysis tools (5-Why, Fishbone, 8D, A3)

- Comfortable in a closely-held, Promoter-led environment

Compensation & Structure:

- Competitive fixed compensation : Rs 18 to 24 Lacs per Annum

- Performance-linked annual bonus tied to operational and financial metrics : Rs 6 ~ 12 lacs per Annum

- Direct reporting to the Managing Director, with all operational functional heads as direct reports
