Job Description: Director - AI & Automation (Banking Operations)

Role Purpose:

The Director - AI & Automation will lead the strategy, design, and implementation of AI-led transformation across global Banking Operations. The role will drive automation, operational efficiency, cost optimization, and enhanced customer experience by leveraging GenAI, Agentic AI, Intelligent Automation, RPA, Machine Learning, OCR, and Workflow technologies. The individual will partner with global business, technology, risk, and operations leaders to identify opportunities and scale AI-enabled solutions across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

- Define and execute the AI & Automation strategy across Banking Operations, aligned with enterprise transformation goals.

- Identify and prioritize automation opportunities across Payments, Lending, Trade Finance, Financial Crime, KYC/AML, Treasury, Wealth Management, and Customer Operations.

- Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI-driven solutions using GenAI, Agentic AI, RPA (Automation Anywhere, UiPath, Blue Prism), Intelligent Document Processing (IDP), OCR, Machine Learning, and workflow platforms.

- Build and lead a high-performing team of AI, Automation, and Process Transformation professionals.

- Partner with Technology, Product, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Data teams to deliver enterprise-wide automation initiatives.

- Develop business cases, define KPIs, and measure benefits including productivity, cost savings, quality improvement, and customer experience.

- Oversee vendor and platform partnerships, including evaluation and implementation of emerging AI and automation technologies.

- Present transformation roadmaps, investment proposals, and progress updates to senior leadership and executive governance forums.

Required Experience:

- 18+ years of experience in Banking Operations, Digital Transformation, AI, Automation, or Operational Excellence.

- Proven experience leading enterprise-scale AI and automation programs within Banking or Financial Services.

- Strong understanding of Banking Operations, including Payments, Lending, Financial Crime, KYC/AML, Trade Finance, Treasury, or Wealth Management.

- Hands-on experience with technologies such as GenAI, Agentic AI, RPA, OCR/IDP, workflow platforms, and analytics solutions.
