Job Description:
Role Summary:
The GM - Finance will lead the organization's financial strategy, budgeting, costing, reporting, compliance, and performance management. The role requires deep financial expertise combined with strong business acumen, analytical thinking, and the ability to drive profitability and operational efficiency. Prior exposure to US Healthcare IT or IT services is highly preferred.
This role will partner closely with business leaders to support growth, optimize costs, improve margins, and enable data-driven decision-making.
Essential Functions:
1. Financial Strategy & Leadership:
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial strategy.
- Provide strategic financial insights to leadership for business expansion, investments, and profitability improvement.
- Drive high-level budgeting and financial discipline across departments.
- Act as a financial advisor to business heads and senior management.
2. Budgeting, Costing & Variance Analysis:
- Prepare and manage annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and multi-year financial plans.
- Establish robust costing models (project costing, product costing, service costing).
- Perform detailed variance analysis (budget vs actual, forecast vs actual) and recommend corrective actions.
- Identify cost optimization opportunities without impacting business performance or quality.
3. MIS & Financial Reporting:
- Design and oversee accurate and timely MIS reporting dashboards.
- Present financial performance reports to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Develop KPIs, profitability analysis, unit economics, and margin improvement metrics.
- Ensure automation and continuous improvement of reporting processes.
4. Accounting, Compliance & Taxation:
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including GST taxation, audits, and regulatory filings.
- Oversee financial controls, internal audits, and risk management frameworks.
- Ensure accuracy of books of accounts and financial statements as per applicable standards.
- Coordinate with external auditors, consultants, and tax authorities.
5. Business Partnering & Commercial Support:
- Support pricing strategies, contract reviews, margin analysis, and deal profitability (especially for US clients).
- Provide financial modelling for new business initiatives, acquisitions, and investments.
- Understand operational workflows in Healthcare IT delivery and revenue models.
- Collaborate with sales, delivery, HR, and operations teams to align financial goals.
6. Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
- Bring out-of-the-box thinking to improve financial efficiency, automation, and scalability.
- Drive digital finance initiatives, analytics, and process optimization.
- Identify emerging risks and opportunities proactively.
Candidate's Profile:
Essential Qualifications:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) - Mandatory
- Additional certifications in finance, analytics, or leadership are an advantage.
Experience:
- 15-18+ years of progressive experience in Finance with minimum 5-8 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in US Healthcare IT / IT Services / Technology services strongly preferred.
- Proven experience in budgeting, costing, variance analysis, MIS reporting, taxation, and compliance.
- Exposure to international client environments and complex financial models is an advantage.
