
Role Overview:
The role demands strong expertise in greenfield and brownfield project execution, chemical process engineering, stakeholder management, and operational excellence within the agrochemical, crop protection, or specialty chemicals sector.
Project Planning & Execution:
- Lead end-to-end execution of greenfield and brownfield agrochemical manufacturing projects from conceptualization through commercial production.
- Develop comprehensive project execution plans, including scope definition, schedules, milestones, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Establish project governance frameworks, monitoring mechanisms, and reporting systems to ensure effective project control.
- Drive project implementation within approved CAPEX budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
- Identify project risks proactively and implement mitigation strategies to minimize schedule and cost impacts.
- Monitor project progress through structured reviews, dashboards, and corrective action plans.
- Manage material handling systems, safety studies, and design reviews.
- Ensure engineering designs comply with operational, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Optimize plant layouts to enhance productivity, operational efficiency, and future scalability.
Procurement & Contractor Management:
- Support procurement activities related to equipment selection, vendor evaluations, technical bid assessments, and purchase recommendations.
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure timely delivery of equipment and materials.
- Conduct regular site reviews, progress meetings, and performance evaluations.
Construction & Installation:
- Oversee construction activities to ensure adherence to engineering specifications, quality requirements, and safety standards.
- Coordinate installation, erection, and integration of process equipment, utilities, and infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with construction schedules and resolve site-related technical issues effectively.
- Ensure utilities are designed to support current and future production requirements.
Commissioning & Operational Readiness:
- Lead pre-commissioning, commissioning, and plant start-up activities.
- Develop commissioning protocols, checklists, and operational readiness plans.
- Coordinate trial runs, process validation activities, and performance qualification exercises.
- Ensure seamless transition from project execution to stable commercial operations.
- Support recruitment, training, and capability building of plant operations teams.
Environment, Health & Safety (EHS):
- Integrate EHS principles throughout project planning and execution stages.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, statutory requirements, and corporate safety standards.
- Facilitate HAZOP studies, risk assessments, safety audits, and hazard mitigation initiatives.
- Implement robust EHS systems and operational procedures before plant commissioning.
Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing, operations, engineering, procurement, quality, supply chain, regulatory, and leadership teams.
- Present project updates, milestones, and risk assessments to senior management.
- Act as the key interface between internal stakeholders, consultants, licensors, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
- Foster strong partnerships to drive successful project execution.
