Role: Deputy Legal Head / Head of Legal

Qualification: LLB

Experience Required: 9 - 20 years depending upon the role

Industry: Energy/ Power

Industry Preference: Energy/ Power (open to candidates from other sectors as well)

Location: Bhatinda (Punjab), Chhattisgarh, Nellore (Andhra Pradesh) (Candidates are open to choose the location as per their preference)

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Legal Advisory

- Advise senior management and the Board on legal risks, obligations, and governance issues.

- Support decision-making on investments, acquisitions, joint ventures, and partnerships.

Contracts & Transactions

- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts (EPC agreements, PPAs, supply contracts, O&M agreements, financing documentation).

- Ensure enforceability, risk mitigation, and compliance with relevant laws.

Regulatory & Compliance

- Establish a compliance framework covering corporate, regulatory, and sector-specific laws.

- To understand and interpret power industry regulations (Electricity Act, environmental and state regulatory frameworks).

Litigation & Dispute Resolution

- Manage and oversee company litigation, arbitration, and regulatory proceedings.

- Engage and manage external counsels efficiently.

Stakeholder Engagement

- Liaise with regulators, government authorities, and industry bodies.

- Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders across functions.

Team Leadership

- Lead, mentor, and develop the in-house legal team.

- Instill a proactive risk management and compliance-driven culture.
