Position:

Deputy Head Contracts & Procurement (Projects)

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Experience: 20-30 Years

Industry Preference:

Oil & Gas, EPC, Refinery, Petrochemical, LNG, Fertilizer, Power, Heavy Engineering, Infrastructure, Industrial Projects

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the Contracts & Procurement function for major EPC and industrial projects.

- Develop and implement procurement and contract management strategies aligned with project objectives.

- Handle complete lifecycle of EPC contracts including pre-award and post-award administration.

- Prepare, review, negotiate, and finalize commercial agreements, subcontract agreements, consultancy contracts, and purchase contracts.

- Ensure contractual compliance with FIDIC, GCC, Special Conditions of Contract, and international commercial practices.

- Lead techno-commercial evaluations, bid analysis, tendering, and vendor negotiations.

- Identify contractual risks and recommend mitigation strategies.

- Manage variation orders, claims, counterclaims, extensions of time, liquidated damages, and dispute resolution.

- Coordinate closely with Project Management, Engineering, Finance, Legal, and Site teams.

- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, statutory regulations, and international standards.

- Monitor contractor performance, contractual obligations, and commercial deliverables.

- Lead procurement planning, sourcing strategies, supplier development, and vendor performance management.

- Drive cost optimization initiatives while ensuring quality and timely project execution.

- Mentor and develop Contracts & Procurement teams across multiple projects.
