Deputy General Manager - Talent Acquisition

Location: Mumbai (Corporate Office)

Role Summary

The Deputy General Manager - Talent Acquisition will be responsible for driving the enterprise-wide recruitment strategy, governance, systems, and leadership hiring for the organization. The role requires strong collaboration with business leaders and corporate stakeholders to attract, hire, and retain best-fit talent across business units, geographies, and international markets. The individual will lead corporate TA operations, standardize recruitment practices, and ensure alignment with business growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Talent Acquisition Strategy & Planning

- Design and execute end-to-end talent acquisition strategies aligned with organizational goals.

- Forecast workforce requirements in collaboration with BU heads.

- Drive diversity, equity & inclusion initiatives across hiring practices.

- Establish, track, and monitor TA KPIs (TAT, quality of hire, cost per hire, etc.).

2. Leadership Hiring & Strategic Roles

- Lead critical leadership hiring across functions, including international mandates.

- Build a robust talent pipeline for succession planning and niche/high-impact roles.

- Drive international hiring initiatives to support global operations and expansion.

3. Operational Excellence

- Oversee full-cycle recruitment activities - sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer management, and onboarding.

- Deploy and optimize recruitment tools, HR tech platforms, and analytics.

- Implement structured, competency-based hiring processes.

4. Employer Branding & Talent Marketing

- Lead campus hiring programs and partnerships with premier engineering/management institutions.

- Strengthen the employer brand through digital sourcing campaigns and employee referral programs.

- Represent the organization at talent forums, industry events, and job fairs.

5. Stakeholder & Business Partnering

- Collaborate with senior leadership and BU heads and internal stakeholders to understand critical hiring priorities and attract diverse global talent.

- Provide dashboards, hiring forecasts, and talent market insights to management.

- Act as a trusted advisor on talent availability, compensation & benefits benchmarks, and emerging hiring trends.

6. Team Leadership

- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of TA professionals.

- Foster a high-performance culture with accountability and continuous improvement.

- Drive training and upskilling initiatives for recruiters and hiring managers.

Qualifications & Experience

- Post Graduate in Human Resources / MBA (HR) from a reputed institute.

- 12-15 years of progressive experience in Talent Acquisition, preferably in electrical manufacturing and EPC sectors.

- Proven track record in corporate TA leadership roles with exposure to pan-India technical hiring and international recruitment.

- Experience in managing both white-collar and blue-collar workforce needs.

- Working knowledge of compensation & benefits trends to support competitive hiring strategies.

- Strong expertise in TA systems, HR tech platforms, and recruitment analytics.
