Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic DGM Legal to lead the legal function for our organization, based in either Pune or Mumbai. This pivotal role involves overseeing all legal matters, providing strategic legal advice to senior management, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The Legal Head will work closely with internal stakeholders across various departments, as well as external legal counsel, to protect the company's interests and mitigate legal risks. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping the company's legal strategy and ensuring its continued success.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and implement the company's legal strategy, aligning it with overall business objectives.

- Provide expert legal advice and guidance to senior management on a wide range of legal issues, including contract law, litigation, and regulatory compliance.

- Manage and oversee all litigation matters, working closely with external counsel to develop and execute effective defense strategies.

- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, ensuring they are legally sound and protect the company's interests.

- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including data privacy laws, labor laws, and environmental regulations.

- Conduct legal research and analysis to stay abreast of changes in the legal landscape and advise the company on potential implications.

- Manage and mentor a team of legal professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development.

- Develop and implement legal policies and procedures to minimize legal risks and ensure consistent application of legal principles.

- Represent the company in legal proceedings and negotiations, as required.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in litigation management, including experience handling complex legal disputes.

- Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts.

- In-depth knowledge of Indian laws and regulations, including corporate law, contract law, and labor law.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and assess legal risks.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate legal concepts to non-legal audiences.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.

- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) required; Master's degree in Law (LLM) preferred.

- 12-18 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in a corporate setting.
