DGM (Head) - Financial Planning & Analysis
You will be responsible for driving the company's financial strategy, budgeting, and forecasting and will act as a critical bridge between accounting and executive leadership, translating complex financial data into actionable insights that inform capital allocation, optimize profitability, support long-term business growth and own the financial modeling, annual operating planning (AOP), and monthly performance reporting.
Key Responsibilities.:
Strategic Planning & Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budgeting and long-range strategic planning cycles (3-5 years plans).
- Develop dynamic forecasting models (revenue, cash flow, and operational costs) to guide executive decision-making.
- Monitor adherence to the Financial Strength outcomes set out in the five-year business plan - recommending improvements to the plan.
- Develop financial KPIs which will be used to assess the success of both the business and the financial strategy.
- Analyse competitor and market financial information to provide insight to assist with decision making.
Management Reporting & Analytics:
- Prepare and present CFO/Board-level financial dashboards detailing key performance indicators (KPIs) and business performance.
- Provide the Board with relevant and timely information to enable it to assess performance against the Group's strategy and objectives.
- Conduct rigorous budget-vs-actual variance analysis and explain the "story" behind the numbers to department leaders.
Business Partnering & Growth:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate the profitability of new product lines, investments, and capital expenditures.
- Drive cost-optimization initiatives and operational efficiency across the organization.
- Track performance against key targets and outcomes and produce regular corporate level management information for all senior management and the Board.
- Ensuring that all routine management information is produced in a timely manner contains reliable information which has been agreed by key stakeholders.
- Produce regular financial reporting to give an overview of business and financial performance.
- Highlight trends, key actions, and strategic implications.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to help ensure the Finance Department is well informed and has a strong voice in the organization.
- Forecasting, cash flow analysis & capital adequacy projections
- Develop, implement and maintain an effective planning and analysis capability that will provide senior leadership with appropriate analytical tools to establish goals and measure performance of the Group's products and services.
- Project manages end-to-end delivery of financial forecasting processes, including communications, timetables, and data requirements.
- Creation of quarterly financial forecasts to be used by the Business Partners, senior management and the Board.
- Use the output of financial models and analysis of trends to drive decision making and communicate relevant messages across the business.
- Ensure the integrity of financial models and projections through implementation of suitable controls, documentation and testing.
- Produce professional reports and presentations summarizing the forecasts for senior management and the Board.
- Work with the MI team to provide intelligence to the business in terms of converting data into meaningful information to make decisions.
- Present information to external parties (including ratings agencies, banks, and Trustee Boards)
Team Leadership:
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of financial analysts.
- Standardize and upgrade financial processes, ERP systems, and business intelligence tools.
Other
- Assist the GM in respect of reports and presentations to the Board regarding financial issues and developments.
- Work with the IT department to recommend suitable technology solutions to enhance our financial modelling and analysis capability.
- To undertake ad hoc duties as agreed with the GM.
Qualification And Experience:
1. CA with 10-15 years of progressive experience in Financial Planning & Analysis with at least 3-5 years in a managerial/leadership capacity.
2. Expert-level proficiency in financial modeling (Excel) and enterprise planning systems (eg, Oracle Hyperion, Anaplan, Adaptive Insights).
3. Building detailed models and forecasts in a complex environment.
4. Strong modelling and analytic skills.
5. Excellent analytical skills, with ability to think independently and draw conclusions.
6. Strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS and financial metrics like ROI, NPV, and IRR.
7. Exceptional executive presence and ability to communicate complex data to non-financial stakeholders clearly.
8. Strategic mindset with a high degree of adaptability and attention to detail.
9. Excellent interpersonal skills.
10. Organised and able to lead a team and organise the teams' workload.
11. Proactive and positive change agent.
12. A team player who can work with stakeholder in other functions to achieve objectives.
