Description:
Key Responsibilities:
Litigation Management:
- Develop and oversee strategies for handling litigation cases, including civil, criminal, and regulatory matters.
- Handling Inhouse Litigation Civil and Criminal Matters.
- Manage pre-litigation disputes and conduct settlement negotiations to minimize legal exposure.
- Represent the organization in court proceedings, arbitrations, and tribunals as necessary.
Legal Advisory:
- Provide sound legal advice to management and business units regarding litigation risks and litigation strategies.
- Ensure litigation strategies align with business objectives.
Contractual Disputes:
- Review, analyze, and negotiate resolutions for disputes arising from contracts, agreements, or vendor partnerships.
Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to all statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Develop policies to mitigate potential litigation risks and ensure legal compliance.
Team Leadership:
- Guide and mentor the in-house legal team, while also liaising with external counsel.
- Monitor team performance and provide necessary training to enhance legal proficiency.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain and manage a database of legal cases, providing regular updates to management.
- Draft and review legal pleadings, affidavits, and other related documentation.
Qualifications and Skills:
Educational Background:
- LL.B./LL.M. from a reputable university.
Experience:
- 15 years of experience in litigation management.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of corporate, civil, and criminal law.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
- Proven capability to lead a team and collaborate with senior stakeholders.
