About the job:
Deputy General Manager (Corporate Accounts):
Position: Deputy General Manager - Corporate Accounts Department - Finance & Accounts Reporting To - Assistant Vice President
Location: Thane MBC
Team size: 10+
Key Responsibilities:
1. Corporate Accounting Leadership:
- Lead and manage the Corporate Accounts function across all business divisions.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial records.
- Drive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Establish and monitor accounting policies, SOPs, and internal controls.
- Lead continuous process improvement and finance automation initiatives.
2. Financial Reporting & MIS:
- Ensure timely preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports.
- Review Balance Sheet schedules and General Ledger reconciliations.
- Monitor profitability, cost analysis, and variance reporting.
- Present financial insights to senior management.
- Ensure timely submission of MIS and reports required by management and stakeholders.
3. Accounts Receivable & Revenue Accounting:
- Oversee Sales Accounting and Receivable Controls.
- Monitor debtor ageing and collections.
- Review customer reconciliations and outstanding balances.
- Supervise commission accounting.
- Ensure accurate salary accounting and related reconciliations.
4. Accounts Payable & General Accounting:
- Oversee vendor accounting and payment processes.
- Monitor expense accounting and provisioning.
- Ensure timely accounting of TDS, GST, and other statutory deductions.
- Review vendor reconciliations and payable ageing.
- Ensure proper accounting for miscellaneous purchases and operational expenses.
5. Banking & Treasury Operations:
- Supervise banking transactions, fund movements, and reconciliations.
- Monitor receivables, payables, and cash flow reporting.
- Review bank reconciliations on a regular basis.
- Coordinate banking MIS and audit requirements.
- Liaise with banks for operational and compliance matters.
6. Balance Sheet & General Ledger Control:
- Ensure complete Balance Sheet integrity.
- Review all GL reconciliations.
- Monitor creation and maintenance of Chart of Accounts.
- Ensure proper accounting treatments as per applicable Accounting Standards.
- Drive timely closure of open accounting issues.
7. Government Incentives & Export Benefits:
Oversee accounting and reconciliation of government incentive schemes including:
1. RoDTEP
2. ROSCTL . Duty Drawback
4. Job Work Accounting . Spinning Unit Accounting
6. Testing & Inspection accounting.
- Ensure proper documentation and audit readiness.
8. Audit & Compliance:
- Lead Statutory Audit, Internal Audit, Tax Audit, and Cost Audit.
- Coordinate with external auditors and consultants.
- Ensure timely closure of audit observations.
- Maintain compliance with Companies Act, Income Tax, GST, TDS, and other statutory requirements.
9. Internal Controls & Risk Management:
- Strengthen financial governance and internal controls.
- Identify financial and compliance risks.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and accounting standards.
10. Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor Managers, Deputy Managers, Assistant Managers, Executives, and CA Interns.
- Allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance.
- Build succession planning and capability development.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Desired Candidate Profile:
Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) - Mandatory.
Experience: 12-18 years of progressive experience in Corporate Finance & Accounts.
- Minimum 5 years in a leadership role managing large accounting teams.
- Experience in manufacturing/export-oriented organizations is mandatory.
