Job Description:


Team Management:


- Lead and be part of a team of highly motivated and experienced legal counsels.


- Should have demonstrated experience of leading teams and be adept in managing them.

Work Management:


- Be able to identify business objectives of all business verticals, related issues and transactions related thereto to provide a risk/benefit analysis.


- Drive contract lifecycle from drafting through completion of the negotiation process and/or contract execution.

- Interpret contracts and advise business managers on contractual responsibilities.

- Advise business (marketing & sales/brand teams) on advertising/promotional matters, marketing campaigns, Contests, Intellectual Property implications.

- Provide opinion and advisory to stakeholders on new business initiatives, identifying risks and legal challenges.

- Will be required to maintain a deep understanding of Maruti Suzuki contract templates, contracting policy, legal risk and liability and company position on various matters.

- Translates business strategy and complex commercial/legal scenarios into simple language and actionable plans of action.

- Support M&A, Private Equity investments and JV activities and related documentation.

- Understand business and build relationships with business stakeholders to help deliver efficient, compliant and speedy solutions that are sustainable.

- As a business partner identify opportunities to drive business forward including but not limited to supporting related transactions, develop legal projects and processes to create legal efficiencies and productivity.

- Provide regulatory and compliance advice - in conjunction with the regulatory/compliance specialist for proactive and efficient management of legal and related compliance risks.

- Set up appropriate risk mitigation strategies through identification, development and monitoring of key metrics for effective daily management of legal and contractual risk.

- Draft, review and negotiate all commercial contractual documentation including but not limited to Production, Engineering, Supply, Service, Marketing & Sales, Financial, HR, Information Technology, Consulting agreements, Licensing, Non-disclosure agreements etc.

- Draft, manage, distribute, respond to, or analyse RFIs, RFPs, RFQs or customer terms and conditions as needed.

- Develop training programs on business-critical matters/policies and build awareness amongst workforces.

- Facilitate internal and external departmental and process audits.
