
Position Title: Lead Server Infrastructure Department: Technology Services, India

Job Purpose:
The Server infrastructure lead plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and reliable operation of our servers, operating system, virtualization, backup and storage infrastructure. He will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the day to day operation, projects, maintaining the uptime of infrastructure. He will also lead a team of outsourced technicians and contractors, to manage projects, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
Key Accountabilities:
- Team Management
- Servers, Operating system (Linux and Windows), Virtualization and containerisation (Openshift, Vmware and OLVM), Backup, storage management and database management.
- Vendor management
- Vulnerable and Patch management
- Budgeting, Audit and Risk management
- Understanding of network protocols and products
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overall delivery of Enterprise Operations team (Linux, Windows, Oracle hypervisor, Openshift, Storage, Backup and Redis) in coordination with App Support.
- Works with and drives forward improvements within the managed teams.
- Knowledge in middleware products MQ, Apache and Weblogic.
- Acts as a referral point for issues, escalations and complaints.
- Crisis Management.
- Manages and contribute OTACE/CSAT for owned services.
- Ensures and maintain platform services uptime including infrastructure for core banking application.
- Provides analysis, feedback and actions based on trends, root cause analysis and other reports.
- Drive and participate in various service excellence initiatives.
- Team management / ramp up/ ramp down, skills retention, attrition management and appraisals.
- Manage people performance, skills, motivation and growth.
- Good knowledge of System Administration on Linux, Windows, Oracle hypervisor, Enterprise storage, Openshift, Postgres, Maria DB, Redis and Kafka.
- Knowledge in Security Management by server hardening, Patch Management, Vulnerability fixing.
Required Experience:
- 15 to 20 years experience in managing enterprise operations team.
- Experienced people leader with relevant technical skills to lead the team.
- Proven ability to mentor and grow the skill set of team members.
- Excellent communication, customer service, organizational, project and personnel management skills.
Education / Preferred Qualification:
- A degree in Computer Science or related subject is preferred.

- Provide leadership in the areas of problem identification and resolution, answering questions and providing advice.
- Coordinate problem resolution with IT subject matter experts, other departments or outside vendors as appropriate. Track and report recurring problems and assign personnel for appropriate follow up to resolve the issues. Manage projects and report on status of projects and resources.
- Provide ongoing support and management of department staff, including coaching, motivating, evaluating, and disciplining.
- Familiarity with control & management tools viz Altiris, TSM, SSM, DLP etc.
- Manage BCP and DR drills for the bank.
Technical Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of information technology (Linux, vmware virtualisation, Openshift containerisation, oracle hypervisor, backup, storage, middleware technology, open source migrations, deployment assurance, project management).
