Team Overview: The Enterprise organization serves global companies, governments, and nonprofits seeking to upskill their workforce. The team includes Sales, Customer Success, and Revenue Operations. Role Overview: Account Director As an Account Director, you will own the full customer lifecycle: acquiring new enterprise customers, expanding existing accounts, and driving renewals. You will develop and execute territory and account plans, run a structured sales process, collaborate closely with Customer Success, and act as a strategic advisor to senior executive stakeholders. Success will be measured by new ARR, renewal rate, expansion revenue, and forecast accuracy. Responsibilities: 1. New Business Acquisition: - Generate pipeline through social selling, networking, industry events, and outbound prospecting - Build and execute a strategic territory plan to move deals through the funnel and close business - Lead consultative discovery and multi-threaded engagement across target accounts - Consistently meet or exceed quarterly and annual new ARR quotas with accurate forecasting - Leverage industry and HR/L&D trends to articulate Coursera's differentiated value 2.Account Growth and Renewals: - Own renewals and expansion for assigned accounts, delivering GRR and NRR targets - Build account penetration strategies and expand relationships across new business units - Partner with Customer Success to link learning programs to measurable business outcomes - Lead executive QBRs and success planning - Identify, prioritize, and close upsell and cross-sell opportunities - Build and deepen C-suite and functional buyer relationships; negotiate multi-year agreements 3.Cross-Functional and Operational: - Represent customer needs with product, content, engineering, business development, and legal - Maintain strong CRM hygiene, metrics tracking, and pipeline discipline - Collaborate with internal teams to design solutions, proposals, quotes, and contract structures - Represent Coursera at customer meetings and events (travel up to 25%) Basic Qualifications: - Enterprise SaaS sales experience managing large, complex, or global accounts - Proven track record of exceeding $1M+ annual quota and closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals - Experience selling to CHRO, CLO, CIO, and functional leadership - Strong collaboration with Customer Success to deliver measurable outcomes - Excellent communication, executive presence, organization, and problem-solving skills - Entrepreneurial mindset; thrives in fast-moving environments - Ability to travel up to 25% Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in EdTech or HR Tech, or selling to HR/L&D buyers - Strong track record of expansion within existing customers (upsell/cross-sell) - Experience managing multi-year agreements and global rollouts - Thought leadership in skills, learning, or workforce transformation - Salesforce proficiency and strong operational rigor Success Metrics: - New ARR and new logo acquisition - Renewal rate (GRR) and Net Revenue Retention (NRR) - Forecast accuracy and pipeline health - Strength of executive relationships and multi-threading - Adherence to a consistent, repeatable sales process Impact: This role plays a key part in advancing Coursera's mission by helping enterprises build capabilities at scale while driving sustainable growth across both acquisition and expansion.
