Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Country Operations & Finance Head to manage and oversee the India operations of a growing direct-sales/consumer products business.

The role will have broad responsibility across Finance & Accounting, Supply Chain, Import & Export, Logistics, 3PL, HR, IT, Regulatory Compliance, and overall business operations.

The ideal candidate should have strong financial expertise combined with hands-on experience in cross-functional operations, importation, contract manufacturing, supply chain, statutory compliance, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Finance & Accounting:

- Oversee day-to-day finance and accounting activities.

- Lead the month-end closing process, P&L reporting, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.

- Review journal entries, payment runs, and accounting reconciliations.

- Manage GST, TDS, EPF, and other statutory compliance.

- Prepare monthly financial reports and management dashboards.

- Manage budgets, cash flow, actual vs. budget analysis, and variance reporting.

- Maintain strong internal financial controls and banking relationships.

Supply Chain & Importation:

- Manage end-to-end supply chain from international sourcing through domestic distribution.

- Handle import processes, customs clearance, duties, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.

- Coordinate with international contract manufacturers on production and shipment planning.

- Ensure FSSAI registrations, licences, and import documentation are maintained.

- Monitor shipments and proactively manage supply-chain risks.

Logistics & 3PL:

- Manage 3PL partners, warehouses, inventory, order fulfilment, and distribution.

- Monitor stock accuracy, cycle counts, dispatches, deliveries, and returns.

- Develop and monitor 3PL performance KPIs and service levels.

- Optimise logistics and last-mile delivery costs.

Operations & Leadership:

- Act as the primary operational point of contact for the India entity.

- Establish KPIs, processes, controls, and accountability frameworks.

- Lead cross-functional teams across Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, HR, IT, and Logistics.

- Build scalable processes and infrastructure for business growth.

- Liaise with government authorities, regulatory bodies, vendors, and external service providers.

HR & IT:

- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, payroll, employee records, and statutory HR compliance.

- Coordinate with global HR teams on policies and compensation.

- Oversee ERP, order management systems, distributor portals, IT infrastructure, and data security.

Regulatory Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with FSSAI and applicable Indian statutory requirements.

- Monitor regulatory changes affecting importation, labelling, distribution, and consumer products.

- Coordinate with legal and regulatory teams on compliance matters.

Candidate Profile:

- 7 - 10 years of progressive experience in Finance, Operations, or Business Operations.

- CA / CMA / CPA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.

- Strong experience in P&L, month-end closing, bank reconciliation, GST, TDS, and statutory compliance.

- Experience managing Supply Chain, Importation, Logistics, Warehouse, and 3PL operations.

- Exposure to contract manufacturing and international suppliers.

- Experience in FMCG, direct selling, health & nutrition, nutraceuticals, consumer goods, or related industries preferred.

- Strong knowledge of Indian GST, TDS, EPF, and regulatory compliance.

- Hands-on experience with SAP / Tally / Oracle or other ERP systems.

- Advanced Excel and strong analytical skills.

- Excellent English communication and stakeholder-management skills.

- Experience in a start-up, greenfield operation, subsidiary, or lean organisation will be an advantage.
