Role Overview
The Sales Manager will oversee the end-to-end sales cycle from managing new project enquiries and tender specifications to order finalization, billing, and payment collection. The role requires strong cross-functional coordination between customers, technical teams, operations, CAD, logistics, and factory units to ensure seamless order execution and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Enquiry Management
- Handle enquiries for new projects, repeat customer requirements, and GeM tenders with timely and accurate responses.
- Assess tender documents, specifications, and client requirements to prepare competitive proposals.
- Prepare and submit technical and commercial offers in collaboration with Technical and Regional Operations teams.
- Track offer status by conducting follow-ups through visits, calls, and emails.
Pricing, Tendering & Order Finalization
- Coordinate with Sr. GM Regional Operations, Erection, and Technical teams to finalize product pricing, erection charges, and tender specifications.
- Negotiate with customers to finalize orders.
- Forward finalized order details to Cheyyar Works and coordinate with the CAD department for BOQ preparation, drawings, and approvals.
Order Execution Coordination
- Work closely with factory, Purchase, and Logistics teams to ensure material availability and timely dispatch of orders.
- Monitor project progress and address customer concerns to ensure smooth execution.
Billing & Payment Collections
- Manage complete payment cycles including advance payment collection, invoicing, and follow-ups for balance payments.
- Resolve billing-related issues and maintain high collection efficiency.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain MIS for order booking, billing, and collections.
- Prepare budgets and performance trackers for sales, collections, and lost orders.
- Provide accurate monthly and quarterly sales forecasts.
Key Requirements:
- MBA is mandatory (Marketing/Sales preferred).
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5-8 years of experience in industrial or project-based sales (fabrication, mechanical, or heavy engineering preferred).
- Strong communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with GeM portal is highly desirable.
- Strong coordination skills with ability to work cross-functionally (Technical, CAD, Operations, Logistics, Factory).
- Willingness to travel for client visits, site meetings, and tender discussions.
