
Our client, a global consulting firm, is supporting a major mining organisation in Liberia on a large-scale capital project involving an Iron Ore Concentrator / Beneficiation Plant. The engagement focuses on maintenance excellence, operational readiness, reliability improvement, and successful plant ramp-up.
As a consultant, you will support maintenance and reliability readiness, helping to optimise asset performance and ensure a smooth transition from project execution to stable operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support maintenance, reliability, and asset management initiatives for iron ore concentrator operations.
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies, preventative and predictive maintenance programmes.
- Drive reliability improvement across key processing circuits, including crushing, grinding, magnetic separation, filtration, and tailings handling.
- Support operational readiness, commissioning, start-up, stabilisation, and plant handover activities.
- Lead shutdown and turnaround planning, asset criticality assessments, and spare parts optimisation.
- Improve maintenance planning, scheduling, and CMMS processes (SAP PM, Maximo, Pronto, etc.).
- Monitor and improve maintenance KPIs, including equipment availability, MTBF, MTTR, and maintenance cost performance.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering teams, OEMs, and contractors to drive asset performance and reliability.
Your Background:
- 6-7+ years of experience in maintenance, reliability, asset management, or operational readiness within mining and mineral processing operations.
- Hands-on experience supporting Iron Ore Concentrators / Beneficiation Plants, with exposure to crushing, grinding, magnetic separation, filtration, and tailings handling circuits.
- Experience with mining companies, O&M contractors, engineering firms, or OEMs supporting concentrator operations.
- Strong expertise in maintenance strategy, reliability engineering, shutdown planning, asset performance management, and CMMS systems such as SAP PM, Maximo, or Pronto.
- Experience supporting commissioning, start-up, stabilisation, or ramp-up of processing plants is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of maintenance KPIs and best practices.
- Prior consulting, advisory, or transformation experience within mining and mineral processing environments is advantageous.
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Reliability, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related discipline from a reputable institution.
Other Info:
The project is based in Liberia with an immediate start (candidates available immediately or with up to 1-month notice preferred). The assignment follows a 6 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation, with round-trip tickets provided between India and Liberia. All accommodation, logistics, and on-site support will be fully managed. Initial contract duration is 6-9 months. Potential for extension exists based on project needs and performance.
