Role Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Document Review Analyst to support eDiscovery and legal document review projects. The role involves performing first-level and advanced review of documents, coding based on relevance and privilege, and assisting project teams with reporting and quality tracking tasks.
You will work closely with Project Managers, Senior Reviewers, and Legal Teams to ensure timely and accurate completion of document review deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
Document Review & Coding:
- Perform first-level document review according to client instructions and project protocols
- Apply relevance, responsiveness, confidentiality, and privilege codes
- Conduct issue-based tagging and classification of documents
- Identify privileged documents and contribute to privilege log creation
- Apply redactions and annotations where required
- Escalate ambiguous or complex documents to leads
Advanced Review Support:
- Assist in sample set creation and quality calibration processes
- Support privilege logging and second-level review tasks
- Participate in quality checks, peer review, and audit validation activities
- Contribute to QC feedback and continuous improvement
Project Coordination & Reporting:
- Assist Project Team Lead in:
- tracking review progress
- maintaining review metrics
- preparing status reports
- query logging and resolving reviewer questions
- Ensure timely communication of issues in workflow or tool usage
Productivity & Quality:
- Meet or exceed:
- daily and weekly productivity benchmarks
- accuracy/quality thresholds defined for each project
- Follow established SOPs, review manuals, and compliance standards
Key Result Areas (KRAs):
- Productivity rate (documents/hour or coding volume)
- Review accuracy and quality score
- Turnaround time adherence
- Compliance to client protocols and legal standards
- Effective handling of privilege and confidentiality tagging
- Contribution to QC and audit readiness
- Error reduction and rework minimization
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of:
- litigation processes
- eDiscovery lifecycle (preferred)
- privilege and confidentiality concepts
- Excellent reading comprehension and analytical ability
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to interpret review guidelines and apply coding decisions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage repetitive tasks efficiently
- Proficiency with:
- document review platforms (e.g., Relativity, Reveal, Nuix, Everlaw preferred, not mandatory)
- MS Office tools
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in:
- Law / Legal Studies (preferred)
- Arts / Commerce / Business Administration
- Any discipline with relevant experience
- Experience in:
- Document review
- eDiscovery
- LPO / Legal process management
- Compliance review is an added advantage.
Good to Have:
- Prior experience working with:
- US/UK litigation or regulatory investigations
- Knowledge of:
- privilege doctrines
- GDPR, HIPAA, or data privacy laws
- Certification in eDiscovery tools or review training
