
Director, Sales Engineering APJC
Location: Bangalore, India (On-Site/Field-Based)

Position Summary:
We are seeking a Director of Sales Engineering to lead and scale our pre-sales engineering team across the APJC region as a strong player-coach technical leader.
This role requires a strong mix of technical expertise, sales acumen, and leadership ability.
You will be responsible for building and managing a high-performing team of Sales Engineers, driving technical excellence in customer engagements, and partnering closely with regional sales leadership to accelerate growth.
As a senior leader, you will shape go-to-market strategies, ensure successful execution of proof-of-value engagements, and influence product direction based on market and customer insights.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development:
- Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team of Sales Engineers across APJC.
- Mentor and coach team members on technical depth, executive presence, and sales effectiveness.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and customer-first mindset.
Sales & Customer Engagement:
- Partner with regional Sales Leaders to define strategy and execute on growth goals.
- Ensure consistency and quality in technical engagements, demonstrations, and PoCs/PoVs across enterprise accounts.
- Act as an executive sponsor for strategic opportunities, building trusted relationships with C-level decision makers and influencers.
- Drive technical win strategy in complex enterprise sales cycles.
Business & Technical Strategy:
- Align customer business and technical needs with ColorTokens Zero Trust and microsegmentation solutions.
- Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to provide customer-driven insights into the roadmap.
- Represent ColorTokens as a thought leader at industry events, partner forums, and customer briefings.
- Stay ahead of security frameworks, industry trends, and competitive landscapes to position ColorTokens effectively.
Operational Excellence:
- Define and track key metrics for Sales Engineering effectiveness (win rates, cycle times, PoC success, etc.
- Standardize best practices for technical evaluations and sales support across the region.
- Partner with global Sales Engineering leadership to ensure alignment and consistency.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in pre-sales engineering, solution architecture, or technical consulting, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Strong track record of building and leading high-performing technical teams in cybersecurity or enterprise IT.
- Deep expertise in one or more areas of the following areas:
- Zero Trust Security and Microsegmentation.
- Cloud Security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Container and Kubernetes Security.
- Endpoint and Network Security (Windows/Linux).
- Proven success driving technical strategy in complex enterprise sales cycles.
- Strong executive presence with excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
- Ability to thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced environment and operate effectively across cultures in the APJC region.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security, or related field.
- Advanced security certifications (CISSP, CCSP, AWS Security Specialty, etc.
- Experience working across multiple APJC markets, with sensitivity to regional business and cultural nuances.
