Chief Manager - Legal - Treasury - LLB/LLM

Role Overview :

The Chief Manager - Legal (Treasury) will serve as a pivotal legal advisor within the treasury function, ensuring the organizations financial operations remain compliant, secure, and strategically sound. You will work closely with the Treasury desk, Risk management teams, and external financial regulators to navigate complex debt capital markets, derivatives, and structured finance transactions.

By providing precise legal counsel on high-value financial instruments and regulatory frameworks, you will directly influence the companys liquidity management and risk mitigation strategies, safeguarding the firm against legal exposure in a dynamic financial landscape.

Key Responsibilities :

- Draft and negotiate complex treasury-related documentation, including ISDA master agreements, credit facility agreements, and bond issuance documents to ensure robust legal protection for the firm.

- Advise the Treasury team on regulatory compliance under RBI, SEBI, and FEMA guidelines to facilitate seamless cross-border and domestic financial operations.

- Manage legal due diligence for structured finance and capital market transactions to minimize operational risk and ensure alignment with corporate governance standards.

- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external counsel to resolve disputes or regulatory queries, maintaining the firms reputation and operational continuity.

- Monitor evolving financial regulations and update internal policies to proactively address changes in the legal environment, ensuring the treasury function remains agile and compliant.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrate deep expertise in financial laws, specifically regarding debt markets, derivatives, and banking regulations, to provide actionable legal solutions.

- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate complex legal risks to non-legal stakeholders, including senior management and treasury dealers.

- Possess a degree in Law (LLB/LLM) from a premier institution, complemented by a sharp analytical mindset for interpreting intricate financial contracts.

- Show the ability to thrive in a high-pressure, on-site environment in Mumbai, where rapid decision-making and attention to detail are critical to the success of treasury operations.
