About the Role:

The Bridge Associates is partnering with an established multi-store retail business in Mumbai to hire a CFO / Head of Finance. This is the top finance seat in the organisation - owning end-to-end financial strategy, controls, and profitability as the business scales its store network. The mandate is confidential; company details will be shared with shortlisted candidates.

The role demands a leader who is equally comfortable in the boardroom shaping strategy and in the store-level detail understanding what drives unit economics.

Key Responsibilities:

- Own end-to-end financial strategy, planning, and performance across a multi-store retail operation.

- Drive multi-store P&L, store-level profitability, and unit economics; partner with business teams on new-store viability and expansion decisions.

- Lead FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, MIS, treasury, and cash-flow management.

- Establish and strengthen financial controls, compliance, audit, taxation, and governance frameworks.

- Manage fundraising, banking, investor and lender relationships, and capital allocation.

- Build, mentor, and lead the finance function as the store footprint grows.

- Serve as a strategic partner to the founders on growth, margins, and capital efficiency.

Ideal Candidate:

- Chartered Accountant (or equivalent) with a proven track record in a CFO / VP Finance / Head of Finance capacity.

- Strong retail / multi-store exposure - Retail, F&B, QSR, consumer, or D2C backgrounds strongly preferred.

- Deep command of P&L management, store economics, financial controls, and statutory compliance.

- Demonstrated experience in fundraising, capital management, and business partnering.

- Analytical, hands-on, and commercially sharp - able to connect financial rigour to business growth.

- Sets the financial vision and instils discipline across a scaling, multi-location business.

- Builds high-performing finance teams and robust processes from the ground up.

- Influences at the founder/board level while staying close to operational reality.
