
Job Purpose (Job Summary):
The position is a key leadership role reporting to the Group CFO and plays a strategic role in the overall management of accounts and finance of all Real Estate projects across all Group Companies. The HOD Accounts & Finance Real Estate will primarily have a day-to-day responsibility for identifying process improvements, planning and implementing, building efficiency in managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the real estate projects along with generating MIS for the same. He will also be expected to take up a hands-on approach and direct responsibility for accounting, tax (direct & indirect), forecasting, strategic planning, legal advice, property & insurance management, advise on compliance for assigned companies.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
Finance & Accounting:
- Work as intermediate link between the accounts and finance sales & execution team for all Real Estate projects.
- Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the assigned companies.
- Ensure credibility of Finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends & forecasts and manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets, consolidation and reporting.
Process Improvement & Operations:
- Identify and plug gaps in the accounts and finance and reporting practices in the assigned companies.
- Implement operational best practices.
- Take hands-on lead position for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive cost system.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions.
Risk Management:
- Construct and monitor reliable control systems and ensure compliance with regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
- Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction.
- Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile.
- Maintain appropriate insurance coverage.
- Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies.
- Facilitate and ensure risk issues are reported to the management .
- Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations.
Education/Experience:
- Chartered Accountant
- Exposure on other finance or any other analytical course
Work Experience / Knowledge:
- Accounting & finance experience, out of which atleast 5 years should be heading the accounts and finance function of a mid sized Real estate company.
