CFO & India Controller
CFO & India Controller role is a key leadership role within the India finance community. The principle responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Provide strategic leadership in business operations in terms of Growth, Profitability, risk assessment and working capital optimization, New Product & technology Introduction and Operating Cash flows. Oversee and manage cost budget pools for India. Support Mergers & Acquisitions due diligence and integration planning.
- Champion in leading the Enterprise Controls, Integrity, and compliance across India operations. More specifically partnering with the board on its Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework along with leading and coordinate all audit processes including Statutory, Tax, SOX and Internal audits for the multiple entities. Awareness of reporting and compliance obligations to the SEBI Clause 49 listing agreement.
- A courageous business leader driving business results with conviction and partnering with diverse business portfolios and models in promoting short term and long-term operating plans.
- Focal for all accounting matters with respect to IGAP & US GAAP reporting requirements. Drive the resolution of complex, material accounting issues with alignment with SBG and Commercial Finance teams.
- Ensure highest standards of Internal controls, SOX compliance, financial reporting and accounting compliance. Execute key controls including reviewing high-risk Account Reconciliation and leading Balance Sheet Review and ensure timely remediation of control risks.
- A thought leader in contemporary finance tools and technologies partnering with Global and Regional Finance centers for standardization, digitization and transformation initiatives. Deploy the global Finance Operating Model in collaboration with respective stakeholders. Continue integration of disparate units and seek further maturity of Hub/in-country model.
- Own and deploy a strong Management Operating System (MOS) to evaluate KPI's for controllership activities delivered thru captive and outsource service providers.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts with respect to compliances and regulatory requirements for tax, treasury, company law and other related commercial laws.
- Tax on planning and restructuring projects. Monitor and advise on robust tax reporting/submissions to authorities.
- Safeguard and optimize free cash, investment of free cash and to co-ordinate restructuring, acquisition funding, etc.
- Partner with broader India Finance Council in executing the India talent strategy on career progression and talent development.
Experience/Skills/Education:
- Professionally Qualified, Chartered Accountant, or equivalent, or MBA Finance from a premier Institute.
- +15 years of extensive finance leadership experience in large, multi-national corporation or with similar multi-industry diversified conglomerates
- Actively managed Board and corporate governance obligations of similar size and complexity
- + 5 years of Listed entity experience and or Commercial finance (P&L) experience @ CFO or CFO+1 level
- Extensive US GAAP and Indian GAAP/Accounting Standard knowledge
- Indirect (VAT, Withholding Tax), Direct (Corporate Tax) knowledge of India
