Role Overview The Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in driving financial excellence and governance across the organization. This strategic leadership position is responsible for end-to-end financial management, including but not limited to : 1. Reporting 2. Compliance 3. Budgeting 4. Internal controls 5. Treasury 6. Risk mitigation The role demands a strong technical foundation in Indian accounting standards and tax laws, proven leadership in team management, and the ability to partner effectively with business and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be both a guardian of financial integrity and a proactive business partner supporting growth and profitability. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting and Compliance 1. Monthly, quarterly, reviews and annual financial statements as per Indian GAAP and/or Ind AS. 2. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including the Companies Act, Income Tax Act, GST regulations, etc. 3. Manage statutory, internal, and tax audits and ensure timely resolution of audit issues. Budgeting and Forecasting 1. Be core partner in the company's annual budgeting and planning process. 2. Conduct monthly variance analysis and support quarterly forecasting. 3. Monitor actual financial performance against budget and provide actionable insights. Internal Controls and Risk Management 1. Develop, implement, and monitor strong internal control systems and SOPs. 2. Identify financial and operational risks and implement effective mitigation strategies. Team Leadership 1. Supervise and mentor the finance and accounts team. 2. Drive team performance through structured reviews, coaching, and upskilling initiatives. Cash Flow and Treasury Management 1. Monitor daily cash flows and working capital requirements. 2. Optimize banking relationships, fund management, and debt servicing. Taxation 1. Ensure accurate and timely filing of direct and indirect taxes (GST, TDS, Income Tax). 2. Liaise with tax consultants and regulatory authorities for assessments and compliance. 3. Support tax planning initiatives to optimize tax liability. ERP and Financial Systems 1. Lead the implementation and optimization of ERP (tally) and accounting systems 2. Ensure data accuracy and system-driven financial reporting. Stakeholder Management 1. Present financial performance reports to senior leadership and board members. 2. Coordinate with external stakeholders including auditors, tax advisors, banks, and regulatory bodies. Qualifications Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) is a must; MBA in Finance is an added advantage. Experience: 8-12 years in finance/accounting roles with at least 3-5 years in a leadership position. Retail/QSr experience is preferred Technical Skills: 1. Strong understanding of Indian GAAP, Ind AS, and regulatory frameworks. 2. Proficiency in financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting. 3. Excellent knowledge of tax regulations and statutory compliance. 4. Hands-on experience with ERP systems(Tally) and advanced excel
