Job Purpose :

To lead and manage end-to-end legal, litigation, documentation, regulatory compliance, and corporate legal affairs for the organization and group companies. The role will ensure effective litigation strategy, contract management, statutory compliance, risk mitigation, and legal advisory support aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities :

Litigation Management :

- Handle end-to-end litigation management across civil, criminal, commercial, and regulatory matters.

- Ensure timely appearance, representation, defending, initiating, contesting, and closure of legal proceedings in a cost-effective manner.

- Coordinate with external advocates, consultants, and regulatory authorities.

- Draft and review notices, replies, written statements, affidavits, plaints, petitions, and legal correspondence.

- Develop strategic and amicable approaches for dispute resolution and litigation management.

- Safeguard organizational interests in all legal proceedings.

Contract Management & Documentation :

- Lead end-to-end drafting, vetting, negotiation, execution, and management of agreements across group companies.

- Review commercial contracts, vendor agreements, NDAs, service agreements, lease deeds, licensing agreements, and other legal documents.

- Ensure legal risk assessment and compliance in all contractual obligations.

- Maintain proper documentation and legal records management systems.

Compliance & Regulatory Affairs :

Ensure compliance with applicable laws including :

- FSSA

- Drug & Cosmetics Act

- NPPA Regulations

- Legal Metrology

- Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)

- Corporate and commercial laws

- Review product labels and packaging content for statutory compliance.

- Advise internal stakeholders on legal and regulatory implications affecting business operations.

- Monitor amendments, circulars, notifications, and legal developments impacting the organization.

Legal Operations & Governance :

- Formulate and implement legal policies, SOPs, compliance frameworks, and governance processes.

- Drive process improvements and legal operational efficiency.

- Conduct due diligence for new projects, business expansions, and strategic initiatives.

- Support management in communications and representations before government authorities and departments.

- Ensure proper maintenance of litigation and documentation databases/CMS.

Reporting & Stakeholder Management :

- Prepare weekly, fortnightly, and monthly MIS reports for management covering:

Litigation status

- Documentation status

- Compliance updates

- Legal risks and closures

- Provide practical and business-oriented legal solutions.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including commercial, operations, regulatory, SCM, and finance.

Team Management :

- Lead, mentor, and develop the legal team.

- Ensure effective delegation, engagement, and professional development of team members.

- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

Desired Candidate Profile :

Education :

- LLB / LLM from a recognized university

Experience :

- 12-18+ years of experience in corporate legal, litigation, and compliance management

- Experience in Pharma, FMCG, Manufacturing, Healthcare, or Consumer industries preferred

Skills Required :
