Job Summary:
We are seeking a high potential, strategically minded professional to take a key leadership role in our Polymer Business. This role is designed for an individual who brings strong domain understanding, commercial acumen, and leadership potential, and is ready to be groomed into the Business Head role in the near future.
The selected candidate will work closely with senior leadership to drive growth, optimize operations, and develop strategic initiatives, while gradually taking on broader P&L and leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Operations Management
- Lead the entire plant operations including production, maintenance, quality, safety, and supply chain.
- Ensure optimal utilization of resources (man, machine, and material) to achieve production targets.
- Implement and monitor KPIs (OEE, yield, downtime, throughput, etc.).
- Drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives to increase productivity.
2. Production Planning & Control
- Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
- Coordinate with planning and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials.
- Optimize production workflows to reduce waste and ensure timely delivery.
3. Quality & Compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to product quality standards and industry regulations (ISO, BIS, RoHS, etc.).
- Work closely with the QA/QC team to drive corrective and preventive actions.
- Implement quality control systems and audits to minimize defects and rework.
4 Maintenance & Asset Management
- Supervise preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Ensure equipment uptime and address breakdowns effectively.
- Liaise with engineering teams for plant upgrades and new installations.
5. Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)
- Champion EHS practices across the plant.
- Ensure compliance with statutory safety regulations and environmental norms.
- Conduct safety drills, training, and risk assessments.
6. Team Management & Development
- Lead, train, and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Drive a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous learning.
- Identify skill gaps and ensure training programs are in place.
7. Budgeting & Cost Control
- Drive cost optimization initiatives without compromising quality and safety.
- Monitor utility and energy consumption to improve cost efficiency.
8. Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with corporate leadership, sales, R&D, logistics, and vendors.
- Act as the key point of contact for audits, client visits, and statutory inspections.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelors/masters degree in Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 15+ years of experience in manufacturing,
Key Skills and Competencies:
- In-depth understanding of plastic/polymer processing technologies (e.g., injection molding, extrusion, compounding, blow molding).
- Strong knowledge of ISO standards, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, and 5S.
- Proven ability to lead large teams and manage complex operations.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal abilities.
