Business Finance Head - Marketplaces

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Lead the Business Finance function, partnering closely with business teams to drive performance and strategic decision-making.

- Own financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.

- Drive monthly performance reviews, variance analysis, and identification of key business drivers.

- Provide insights on revenue streams, unit economics, take rates, margins, and profitability.

- Partner with cross-functional teams (Product, Supply, Demand, Operations) to support growth and optimisation initiatives.

- Build and manage MIS, dashboards, and reporting frameworks for leadership.

- Analyse performance across multiple business lines / categories and identify risks and opportunities.

- Support strategic initiatives including pricing, monetisation, new category launches, and investments.

- Drive financial discipline and governance across business units.

- Lead and mentor a high-performing finance team.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Qualified CA / MBA (Finance) from a reputed institution.

- 10+ years of experience in business finance, FP&A, or commercial finance roles.

- Mandatory / Strong preference for candidates from marketplace or platform-based business models.

- Experience in companies such as e-commerce, food delivery, mobility, travel, or similar multi-sided platforms is highly preferred.

- Strong understanding of unit economics, take rates, and multi-sided business models.

- Proven ability to partner with business leaders and influence decision-making.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modelling skills.

- Experience managing teams and working with senior leadership.
