Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth for our pharmaceutical manufacturing operations based in Boisar, Mumbai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, expanding client relationships, and developing strategic partnerships within the pharmaceutical and life sciences ecosystem. This role requires strong market insight, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally to achieve revenue and growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate, and develop new business opportunities within pharmaceutical manufacturing and allied segments
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing and prospective clients
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify industry trends, customer needs, and growth opportunities
- Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with company goals and revenue targets
- Lead commercial discussions, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations with clients
- Achieve and exceed assigned sales and business growth targets
- Collaborate closely with internal teams including production, quality, regulatory, and supply chain to ensure seamless client onboarding and delivery
- Prepare business proposals, presentations, and reports for senior management
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong experience in business development, sales, and key account management
- Proven ability to identify and convert growth opportunities in B2B environments
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
- Experience in market research, data analysis, and strategic planning
- Strong organizational, planning, and project management capabilities
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in the pharmaceutical manufacturing / CDMO / API / formulations industry
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an added advantage
