Job Title: Legal Compliance Specialist

Function: Legal / HR Compliance

Location: Azamabad, Near RTC Cross Road, Hyderabad

Industry: Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

Experience: 10+ Years

Qualification: MBA / PGDM (HR) or LLB

Role Overview

The Legal Compliance Specialist will be responsible for end-to-end statutory, labor, environmental, and regulatory compliance for pharmaceutical manufacturing operations. The role requires strong hands-on experience with audits, inspections, government liaison, contractor compliance, and statutory documentation, ensuring adherence to all applicable laws and regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities (KRAs)

1. Statutory Compliance & Regulatory Management

- Ensure full compliance with Central and State labor laws, environmental regulations, factory acts, and safety legislations applicable to the pharmaceutical/manufacturing industry.

- Monitor changes in statutory regulations and proactively implement compliance updates.

- Maintain and track compliance calendars, statutory due dates, and renewal timelines.

- Ensure adherence to laws related to:

i. Factories Act

ii. Contract Labour Act

iii. Industrial Disputes Act

iv. Minimum Wages Act

v. PF, ESI, Gratuity

vi. Environmental Protection Laws

vii. Safety, Health & Welfare regulations

2. Audits, Inspections & Returns

- Coordinate and support internal and external audits, statutory inspections, and regulatory reviews.

- Collect and validate compliance data from relevant departments.

- Prepare, submit, and follow up on periodic statutory returns, applications, and approvals.

- Act as the primary point of contact during inspections by government authorities.

- Ensure timely closure of audit observations and corrective actions.

3. Government Liaison & Regulatory Interface

- Maintain strong liaison with Government Departments and Regulatory Authorities, including:

i. Labour Department

ii. Factory Inspectorate

iii. Pollution Control Board (PCB)

iv. Fire Department

v. PF & ESI Authorities

- Handle applications, renewals, and follow-ups for licenses, registrations, and approvals.

- Represent the organization during compliance-related discussions and hearings.

4. Vendor & Contractor Compliance

- Ensure third-party vendor and contractor compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.

- Review and monitor documentation including:

i. Labour contracts

ii. PF & ESI registrations

iii. Licenses and statutory filings

- Conduct periodic compliance audits of contractors and vendors.

- Address gaps and ensure corrective actions for non-compliance.

5. Compliance Systems & Reporting

- Operate and manage Compliance Tools / Software to track statutory adherence.

- Maintain compliance dashboards and generate monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance reports for management.

- Provide compliance MIS and risk assessments to leadership teams.

6. Documentation, Licenses & Records Management

- Maintain and update all statutory records, licenses, and approvals including:

i. Factory License

ii. Pollution Control Board (PCB) Consent

iii. Fire NOC

iv. Labour Licenses

v. Safety and Environmental approvals

- Ensure proper record retention and audit readiness at all times.

Required Skills & Competencies

Technical & Functional Skills

- In-depth knowledge of Indian labor laws, factory compliance, and environmental regulations.

- Strong experience in statutory audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting.

- Expertise in government liaison and regulatory coordination.

- Hands-on experience with compliance management tools and dashboards.

- Strong documentation and compliance MIS capabilities.

Qualifications & Experience

- MBA / PGDM in HR or LLB.

- 10+ years of experience in Legal / HR Compliance within the Pharmaceutical or Manufacturing industry.

- Prior experience handling factory compliance and regulatory audits is mandatory.
