Role Summary:


As a Key Account Manager will be responsible for driving sales and revenue growth from Government, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), and allied agencies. You will manage the full sales cyclefrom opportunity identification and bid/tender management to contract negotiation and closureensuring Binary Semantics offerings are positioned effectively to meet public sector requirements.


Key Responsibilities:


Business Development & Sales Execution:


- Identify, pursue, and secure business opportunities with Central/State Government departments, PSUs, autonomous bodies, and local authorities.

- Develop and qualify leads, create sales pipelines, and forecast revenue from government accounts.

- Engage in consultative selling by understanding government workflows, tender requirements, and compliance criteria.

- Build strong relationships with key decision-makers, procurement officers, and influencers in relevant government agencies.

Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Building:


- Represent the company in government meetings, pre-bid conferences, workshops, and industry events.

- Articulate product value propositions and solution differentiators tailored for public sector needs.

- Maintain long-term engagement with government customers post-sales to ensure high satisfaction and repeat business.

Sales Planning & Reporting:


- Develop annual sales strategies and execution plans for Government verticals.

- Set targets, prepare forecasts, and track performance metrics for your vertical.

- Provide monthly/quarterly reports to senior leadership outlining progress, pipeline, risks, and mitigation plans.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:


- Collaborate with product, pre-sales, solution engineering, legal, and finance teams to align offerings with government requirements.

- Train and mentor sales team members on government sales processes, documentation, compliance, and negotiation best practices.

Qualifications & Experience:


Education:


- Any Graduate/Postgraduate


Experience:


- 8+ years in government/public sector sales.

- Proven track record of closing government deals and managing public procurement cycles.

- Understanding of government procurement regulations, compliance standards, and public sector budgeting processes.

- Excellent negotiation, communication, presentation, and relationship building skills.

Skills & Attributes:

- Consultative sales mindset with strong solution-oriented approach.

- Capable of navigating complex sales cycles and long lead times typical of government deals.
