Banking & Finance Lawyer

Role Overview:

A reputed law firm is expanding its Banking & Finance practice and is seeking experienced legal professionals with strong transactional exposure and regulatory understanding. The role involves handling complex financing transactions, client advisory, and regulatory support, with a clear expectation of ownership, quality delivery, and contribution to practice growth.

This position is suited for professionals who have moved beyond purely execution roles and can independently manage significant aspects of banking and finance matters.

What You'll Do:

- Work on complex banking and finance transactions, including domestic and cross-border financing, structured finance, and lender/borrower representations.

- Provide legal advisory support on financing structures and transaction execution.

- Handle regulatory aspects, including exposure to RBI, SEBI, and allied financial regulators (preferred).

- Draft, review, and negotiate financing documents, security documents, legal opinions, and ancillary agreements.

- Coordinate deal execution, closings, and post-closing requirements.

- Work closely with partners, clients, and counterparties to deliver high-quality legal outcomes.

- Contribute to practice development, knowledge building, and team mentoring.

What You'll Bring:

- Admitted to the Bar (India).

- 3-8 years of substantive experience in Banking & Finance from a reputed law firm.

- Strong command over transaction documentation, structuring, and negotiations.

- Sound understanding of banking laws, financial regulations, and regulatory advisory.

- Ability to handle matters with minimal supervision and manage client expectations.

- Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder-management skills.
